Torrents showing 100% available not downloading qbittorrent
I observed as it started to download. I did not notice if it was doing this for the entire time. I'm surmising as I was watching that here was one other person who had just started downloading too, if that makes a difference in the calculation function. I have not replicated this behavior yet. I'll try it again tomorrow and see if it has the same behavior. This is not a terrible bug, just a weird display.
If this is deemed not a big deal, please do not hesitate to close it. Want to back this issue? Post a bounty on it! We accept bounties via Bountysource. For the "Do not count slow torrents in these limits" I have just enabled that option just now. So I'll follow up with the results.
The weird thing is that yesterday my torrents suddenly started downloading again and I'm not sure why. I have redone my settings in Qbittorrent due to a recommendation that was posted on my thread in the Qbittorrent Fourms. These are the new settings that were posted, And as such I have changed my previous settings to these settings. Going forward, I recommend a vast reduction on your qBittorrent settings. The az-calc guide you used was badly flawed when it was made and is over 6 years old.
Upload slots: Global maximum: 60 should be lowered further if you lower upload speed much Per torrent: Not "checked" it's not nearly as important as the global max upload slots.
Half-open connection value: 10 if you're not firewalled in qBT, even 10 may be overkill. With 60 total upload slots, that puts an upper limit on how many active torrents you can have at once -- 60, with 1 upload slot for each.
Alright, So I still have this problem. Now I'm not sure what to do. It works sometimes but sometimes it does not work with downloading, even though I have seeds. Qbittorrent isn't even letting me move torrents around, I usually put torrents in a "downloading" folder then I put the finished torrents in a folder marked "Unsorted by Filebot" using the torrent program, But when I use the option "Set Location" in Qbittorrent nothing happens.
That and my torrents never check it seems, It takes forever to check if the check bar even moves at all. I don't know whats going on. Now I cant cant even get qbittorrent to close using the end process command with task manager. I have used qBittorent for some time successfully, but recently have experienced the same problem.
I appear to be set up correctly but suddenly am getting 0 upload and 0 download speeds. Although my computer registers clean when I do a thorough scan, I've noticed problems with other software programs not functioning correctly. Could I possibly have some type of virus that my Windows Defender is not picking up on?
I've already removed malware with Malwarebytes. Cleared it out and started downloading again straight away. I still had a lot of space left on my hard drive. However, when inspecting the individual files in the "content" tab, the biggest file in all three torrents showed as Going back to the "general" tab, I observed that they were missing 5, 7 and 7 pieces out of roughly pieces the total number of pieces was similar for all 3 torrents.
I currently have torrents in my list, with many more completed in the past and on other devices, and I have never encountered this issue before updating to 4. Happends to me as well. Edit: Transmission with the Remote GUI addon has mostly the same feel and features as Qbittorrent, and doesn't have these ludicrous bugs that the devs are incabable of fixing even when they have been known for over a year.
Started happening to me as well just randomly on 4. If I pause-resume-force resume etc it doesn't help. I have even done a recheck on one and it didn't finish, I had to exit and reopen qbit to get it finished.
Also odd was the "run once complete" command I have didn't run when I reopened to make it finish. Edit: ok force recheck is working to restart them now. And they will "run once complete".
Before it may not have worked because I was already downloading more then my que allowed. Still happening on latest 4. Very annoying. Will point out that suggestions above to use the "recheck on completion" option won't work as the torrent is technically not complete. I'm mostly dealing with larger torrents GB and every time I've checked one of these stalled torrents, there's anywhere from 1 - 50MB that hasn't downloaded. Upgraded to 4. But it could just be dumb luck.
I'll keep y'all updated. Still an issue. The more I use qbt, the more half a decade old issues I find but the alternatives are even worse. Force recheck solves is, I'm guessing it's a caching issue of some sort. Happens to me as well in 4. Seems to be happening randomly, or I did not find any pattern. I love how this has been reported and re-reported for years without so much as an acknowledgement from the developers.
First class, no, really. Still happening to me on 4. Happen for me with 4. But, in my case, I think I know what was the source of the problem. I "paused" all the others torrents and qbittorrent was able to validate the 'green pieces' and complete the download. I think that my problem probably falls into this family of issues. I haven't seen it myself until v4. Neither of you ran out of disk space? It looks like there might be a number of similar issues. To me the torrents fail to complete if I run out of space in the meanwhile.
After I free up space the stop before completion. And it only started doing this after I started using v4. I'm having thoughts similar to those expressed by cwarren-qc — lagging, flaky or faulty drives might be triggering this. So, in a few senses, they appear complete, while in at least one other, they do not. One has to wonder if there's any code in qbt making decisions based on those inaccurate reports and not looking at the accurate one?
I, too, am currently downloading a ton of torrents simultaneously, and for a few days now, also to three different drives, two of which were added via an external USB dual-HDD dock. Looks like files are not flushed to disk time to time. Too bad nobody seems to care. You aren't downloading to an SSD are you? If so, garbage collection might be rearing it's ugly head. If not an SSD, I'd download some random file Without going to that folder at all, select "Force recheck" which I assume it will pass.
Now, go into the folder so that Windows sees the file and generates the thumbnail Now, play the file, stop it, and force recheck. No, I don't use solid state drive if that is what you mean by SSD.
My Windows and other installed software do not generate any thumbnails and my player doesn't alter media files in any way. Also I had more than 10 active torrents for seeding, I don't know if that matters. Without going anywhere, once I noticed that download complete and I am seeding, I selected "forced recheck" and after couple of hours of rechecking I do use pre-allocation and zero filling when starting torrent download.
When utorrent finish download first time there are dumps of zeros in files among the actual data. When I force recheck and finish download second time all those zeros filled up with data that were missing first time.
I don't think this is hard drive problem - same sectors that kept zeros first time are keeping valid data after forced recheck and redownload. I discontinued use of utorrent for this very reason: it added extra miles for electrons I sent overseas. Let me know if you need any additional info about my setup for debugging; however I won't be able to update utorrent client or try some fancy settings. Don't want to be mean, but your computer takes "a couple of hours" to recheck a 21GB torrent?
