I have found working as a team is better than running off on your own and you do always feel like you have a fighting chance in every match that you play.
The game is pretty generous when it comes to the in-game currency and I never once found myself being tempted to go and spend actual money. Of course, that option is there if you want it and if you find that you get really into the game, I really do not see anything wrong with spending a few bucks here or there on it at all.
