Stop malwarebytes from scanning downloaded files
Do you still need me to try running the support tool? If so I can try doing that again but it seems that it can scan again. That's great, I'm glad to hear it. No, the logs won't be necessary since it's working properly now.
Just keep an eye on it and let us know if you have any more trouble, but hopefully it's resolved for good. I guess I will see if it will be able to complete a scan next week then I will be out of town. If it does that again I will let you know. Sounds like a plan, hopefully it was just a one time hiccup which seems likely given that the reinstall fixed it. Just thought I would update this thread to let you know that it was able to successfully complete the scan again, so I believe that this issue has been resolved.

Hello and Please read the following and post back the logs when ready and we'll see about getting you cleaned up.
It is unlikely but things can go very wrong! Please make sure you Backup all files that cannot be replaced if something were to happen. Often we are also on a different Time Zone.
Sometimes one step requires the previous one. When RKill runs it will kill malware processes and then removes incorrect executable associations and fixes policies that stop us from using certain tools. When finished it will display a log file that shows the processes that were terminated while the program was running.
As RKill only terminates a program's running process, and does not delete any files, after running it you should not reboot your computer as any malware processes that are configured to start automatically will just be started again. Instead, after running RKill you should immediately scan your computer using the requested scans I've included.
After the online virus scan, Malwarebytes reports on any threats that were found and asks if you want to remove them. Once you give the ok, our virus removal tool will clean up threats so your device, files, and privacy are secure.

You can click and drag the files to this bar or you can click the choose files , then browse to where your files are located, select them and click the Open button. I would suggest just restarting your computer. It sounds like the scan got hung up for some reason however restarting the system should resolve it. Please try scanning again after the system restart and let us know if it still hangs up or not. I did restart several times since the problem first occurred.
I didn't know the scan was still running until I attempted a new scan and discovered my original scan was still running and had been for 8 days.
I down loaded and ran the support tool. The support tool deleted Malwarebytes and replaced it with a fresh copy of the program. Problem solved! Anyway, thanks for replying.
