De app werkt simpel en snel en wordt voortdurend van updates voorzien. Tof is dat de Twitch-app alle apparaten die met hetzelfde wifi-netwerk verbonden zijn, omtovert tot een afstandsbediening. Heb jij bijvoorbeeld net een video aangezet met je Android, dan kan een vriend in of familielid met een iPhone alsnog bepalen wat er op de tv wordt afgespeeld.

Podcastliefhebbers hebben het maar zwaar bij Android, want de kwalitatief hoogstaande podcast-apps heb je in Google Play niet voor het uitzoeken. Daarnaast biedt de app tevens een handige controlebalk in het notificatiegedeelte van Android waardoor je snel de app kunt bedienen, ook in combinatie met de Chromecast.

Niet langer hoef je via zoekmachines te zoeken welke Android-apps nu precies de Chromecast ondersteunen. Met Cast Store krijg je alle applicaties in de Play Store te zien die samenwerken met de Google-dongel. De lijsten in Cast Store kun je sorteren op actualiteit, naam en beoordeling door andere Android-gebruikers. In de app kun je ook gebruikmaken van de zoekfunctie, om zo binnen enkele seconden te weten of jouw favoriete app de slimme hdmi-stick reeds ondersteunt.
