Csv file wont download from internet explorer
This worked for me, hope it helps someone else. View solution in original post. Try disabling your Google docs extension before you download it. The issue is in your download settings. Thank you. Do you have another suggestion where it might be hidden?
I clicked the "CSV" button and it downloaded fine. I've opened it and it works normally. CSV files are run on gibberish : They're comma or other symbol separated text files that programs like Excel and google docs usually knows how to split up in to columns based on the placement of the commas or other symbol. It sounds like you might have accidentally associated CSV files with google docs or if you're using Chrome maybe it has done it on your behalf to attempt to be helpful.
Are you seeing the "Generate CSV" button? Or is just "CSV"? I have been emailing back and forth with Etsy Support for 2 weeks and they still have not solved the issue.
I don't know how you figured it out but when I right clicked and selected download linked file - it was a CSV file. I can't thank you enough. I'm on a Mac and this worked for me too, right click to select "download linked file" rather than getting the google link to un organised data. Thank you - it was driving me mad. This is still an issue in You saved me from crying! I'm click yes for now and letting it reboot and attempt to install IE.
Also, IE 9 is installed on this laptop. Well, the script didn't seem to do anything. It asked to reboot after it couldn't find IE and said it would install after the reboot. I waited a good 10 minutes after the reboot and whole lot of nothing happened. It is moving extremely slow on the download, but we have decent internet here where I work. I'll update further once it finished downloading and if I run into any issues while installing.
IE did not install. I got the error stating "Internet Explorer did not finish installing". Then some info on troubleshooting, but it is just the basic troubleshooting page on Microsoft's website. Would it be easier to troubleshoot Excel for the initial issue? Seeing as it did start happening "out of the blue" and it is only affecting the one user.
Update: I maybe should have thrown this out earlier, but the installed version is IE 9. However when you go to the control panel and then to the section where you turn windows features on and off it is registering that IE 11 is actually installed. Thus, this is why we believe there is some bug with the image. IE 9 is what shows when you open the browser and check the version as well as it looks like 9 and not With all of the being said it would be great to get this figured out, but we are half way through getting a MDT system worked out.
We are just getting drivers and software together now for the new image and we are including IE 11 with it. I'll be able to update again in the next day or so once we have the new image as the original problem user is one of the first people on the list to get it. We have a GPO pushing favorites and secure site settings, but nothing related that I can think of that would block upgrading.
Even with that being said, I have tried the upgrade on machines that were using the old image, but I removed them from the domain to remove the possibility it wouldn't be so odd conflict. At any rate, I was able to get the user up and running on the new image we are testing now with MDT and so far so good.
He has IE 11 and his excel issue is no longer present. I sincerely appreciate the help and response on this issue. For now though it is a done deal and time to move onto the next challenge.
