How to rename files not downloaded from sonarr

2021.12.20 17:35

Other than the Episode Naming section, no other settings within Media Management needs to be changed. Profiles is where Sonarr looks to determine what type of media to look for. Since we do not care about television very much we opted for DVD quality over Bluray. This decision also helped us save a ton of hard drive space.

Under Profiles there is another section called Delay Profiles. Here you can decide whether you would like Sonarr to prefer Usenet, or Torrents. The Quality tab is next, and is used to adjust the sizes of the shows that Sonarr grabs. We did not find any reason to adjust these settings and left them at their default values. Sonarr can search both Usenet and Torrent indexers. Usenet is not free but far superior to Torrents.

Adding providers is as easy as using the Newznab presets for Usenet, or choosing Custom if the provider is not on the list. The same is true for Torrents but they are not recommended. If you decide that you would like to go ahead and use Torrents anyway, you will need to install another program called Jackett which you can read about here. Download Client is where the settings are input for the program s used to download the shows. Setting up a Usenet client and a Torrent client are the same.

SABnzbd is a really great, and simple to use program for grabbing newsbins. Two files the outermost fields in the image exist, which both point to the same data.

One file is located in a media folder and has been renamed, while the other has been left in the downloader folder. When viewed in a file manager, both files will appear independent of one another and there is no indication that they share the same data.

You could copy either file to a local drive, and you would end up with the original video and not just a shortcut. That way, you can continue to seed the file while an application such as Plex Media Server will be able to see it in your media folder. The filename in your media folder can even be cleaned up without issues. Using a hardlink for your download is the easiest way of giving back to the community. A hardlink will allow you to neatly organize all of your media files while continuing to seed them.

You have the added benefit of seeing the file in your media folder almost instantly, and you do not have to wait for it to be completely copied over. To be able to use hardlinks on Unraid you will need to have your downloads, televisions shows, and films all located under the same parent folder.

You can still organize your films and television shows into individual folders, the important part is the shared parent folder. In this example, the parent folder is simply named media. To speed up the configuration, you can simply map the media folder in the Docker settings of Transmission, Sonarr, and Radarr, as I have done in the screenshots below. I will also cross-post to Sonarr forums.

I only know it requires special setup for UNC paths.. That's all I know. I have had the same configuration for years, at least 3 than I can remember but probably closer to 5 maybe even 6. Point is, same issue. Sonarr does it's job and sends nzb to Sab. Sab does its thing but it seems like sab is not post processing because Sonarr is not picking up the unpacked rar file and I have to use WinRar to do it manually.

Any ideas? Configuration has remained the same and was completely hands off for many years until I got tired of seeing the Update available warning and finally decided to do it. Ironically I avoided the update for a couple years to prevent having any issues. Well guess what Issues galore. Please help, wife is threatening to call cable and have it reinstalled after a very long time of my setup working flawlessly.
