閲楽書店 Yue Yue Bookstores / Taipei

今回は日本からも行きやすい台湾のカフェの紹介です。

I am going to introduce you to a Taiwanese café today.

こちらは名前からも分かる通りブックカフェです。

台湾のおしゃれスポットとして人気の高い、松山文創園区（Songshan Cultural and Creative Park）の中にあり、８０年前に作られた煙草工場の跡地を利用しています。

リノベーション後、美術館やギャラリー、お店やカフェとして生まれ変わり、敷地が広くまったりとお散歩が楽しい。

From its name you can guess it’s a bookstore café.

It’s in “Songshan Cultural and Creative Park”.

A cigarette factory was built here 80 years ago and now it has been rejuvenated in to a museum, some shops and some cafes.

It’s a very large area, where you can enjoy walking and just chilling out.

緑のレトロな外観のこちらのカフェは旧託児所だそう。

店内に入ると思わず声が出てしまう程素敵です。

壁一面に本がずらりと並んだ梯子付きの本棚、ソファやレトロな椅子などがあり、ゆっくり本を読みながらカフェタイムが出来てしまいます。

電球も不揃いにぶら下がっており、それがまた素敵な空間の演出に力を貸しています。

 

The outside is painted in pale green and has a retro look to it. Prior to being a book store cafe it was used as a child care center.

Wow! The inside is so amazing, I am lost for words.

There are some bookshelves with a ladder and a lot of books are arranged over them.

The retro style sofas and chairs are so comfortable that I felt totally relaxed and was able to read books with a good coffee.

Electric lamps randomly hang from the ceiling which helps create a good atmosphere.

こちらでは夕暮れだったという事もあり、アイスラテとチーズケーキのみオーダー。

As it was already evening I just ordered iced latte and cheesecake.

こちらに置いてある本は中国語だったので、内容はわかりませんでしたが、ぱらぱらとめくっているだけで楽しいもの。

They only have books written in Chinese so I couldn’t understand them.

However I enjoyed just flipping through them.

 

ここには現地のお友達と一緒に来たので本をめくる時間よりも、もちろんガールズトークに花が咲いていました。

I visited with my Taiwanese friend so we spent more time flipping books than having a girly chat.

 

台湾に訪れるのはこれがなんと１０年ぶりの事でした。

私の中の台湾のイメージと今回の旅で感じた台湾の印象は随分違い、近年おしゃれなお店が本当に増えているし、様々なカフェ通りも発見しました。

 

It was my second time visiting Taiwan.

However as it has been 10 years since my last visit I was able to see the immense changes had taken place during this time, such as the building of fashionable stores and cafes. I found a lot of good places in this trip.

また、台湾で見つけた素敵なカフェのお話をしたいと思います。

I want to talk more about other cafés I found in Taiwan.
