Onobone (Drum Champ Road), Antiknock, Tokyo, on 3rd Mar. 2016.

(Drum Champ Road is a drummer’s tournament. They show their technique, power and groove within 6 minutes including setting. A winner is selected by the judges and the audience.) 2 drum sets were placed on the floor, not on the stage. So taking pictures in ambient light was really challenging. What’s more, it’s only 6 minutes! I decided to use only my Sony a7m2 and 35mm f 1.4 prime lens. It was the hardest lighting ever. I had to crank up the ISO to 25600 for the first time. Onobone fought very well, continued to win to Round 3. He was expected to be a champion, but narrowly missed the title.
