This isn't only an issue with zombies in the show, but also with the concept in general. Typically, zombies are shown to be slow but incredibly strong. The strength is said to come from their lack of pain and so on, but surely this should affect their speed as well.

The zombies in the show aren't exactly clever and possess a primal thirst for human flesh, so one of the main questions that springs to mind is why don't the zombies attack one another? The show has been clear that the zombies recognize one another and do not attack one another, but no reason has been given as to why this is. This isn't only an issue in the Walking Dead , but is also fairly prevalent across other zombie properties. For some strange reason, the Walking Dead takes place in a universe in which there is no zombie mythology - why else would they refer to the zombies in the show as 'walkers' rather than zombies?

This is a strange creative decision, having a pre-existing idea of zombies doesn't make them less scary or make the people more likely to handle the situation.
