Cumulus broadcasting detroit
My Business Manager position calls for long hours at the first ten days of the month but the remaining days are generally pretty flexible. Pay scale is a little below average for the area. Was this review helpful?
Report Share. My direct management cares about the employees and provides good mentoring. Pros Direct management and opportunities. Cons Pay. Leaving was the best choice ever! I now make 5 times what I made there. Pros None. Cons Everything. Great opportunity for a "prospecting machine" like myself. I was able to open more new business and new business categories than any other media salesman. It was a great opportunity to shine and achieve goals and categories that had baffled all other comers.
Management was great and super-supportive all the way! Pros Very diverse market and endless opportunities. Cons The typical radio "plan" where "6 months and you'e out. A lot of fun, a good place to work, you learn something new every day, if you like music this is the place to start your career, and the opportunity to be an on air talent.
Pros Free lunch and tickets for the movies. Cons Payment. Do you enjoy working at your company? Overall not a bad place. Very dependent on your location as to how management works. Very little consistency in operations from market to market. I do feel that corporate leadership is trying to correct that though. Pros Radio, fun people mostly. Cons Healthcare lacks, no consistency, lack of transparency. My only issue I had was not enough money for the amount work you do it was a lot of work.
They are a great company to work for every company has good qualities and bad ones you just have to make the best of the good…. Pros Good company get together. Cons Need more money for the work provided. I worked as a Promotions Coordinator and it was enjoyable part-time work.
Only downside is that there were very few opportunities for work in the winter months. If you make the right connections there's opportunity to move up in the company and get radio time. Upper management has obvious bias and the narcissism is what keeps this company running. Overworked and underpayed employees, for all role types unless you are the top management. They thrive off of young, creative, entry level talent to keep the wheels turning but will run them down and burn them out.
Very unprofessional voices making major decisions and the company overall is very tone deaf. If you are looking for a healthy workplace to grow - run. Pros Cool people makes it tolerable. This is a good company to work for. The higher-ups make you feel appreciated. They have plenty of company holidays and really try to make sure that employees have a work-life balance. Jobs at Cumulus Media. Customer Service Representative - Remote.
Remote Tech. Production Director. Street Team-Remote Tech. Just another big broadcasting company. May rewrite and further explain later. Proud to work at a conservative talk radio station. Pros Worked with some great people. Cons Low pay with zero benefits or opportunity to advance.
Great place to work, needs to Work on culture, pay and benefits. For the most pasty everyone was nice and helpful. Sometimes can get stressful but good work-life balance. In the beginning everyone was excited to have a new employee in sales on No room for growth. Senior AE's are favored by management- so the sales managers make it impossible to ever get good paying acct. Its a constant climb to get just the "crumbs" accounts. They also have no problem taking your accounts that you earned and giving it to senior Ae's.
Senior Ae's can disrespect Company management and no repercussions take place. Terrible examples of leadership.
They do not have the best interest of the business owners nor their staff. Its a narcissist environment and selfish management. I would NOT recommend working here. They need NEW Sales management and one without such a potty mouth.
Hearing your "Superior" curse like a sailor is unprofessional and completely tacky, Completely disappointed by the sales staff. Pros Work from home but not family friendly. Cons Managment is terrible-no growth within the company- disrespects their AE's-unprofessional.
The hard work A pretty cool place to work but you have to work twice as hard to move up. A pretty cool place to work but you have to work twice as hard to move up. You learn a lot about radio broadcast. Normals day is calm paced. You have to keep up the with your focus.
Pros Occasional free lunch. Cons Hours too long. The only company I have ever known who treats the only people who generate any and all revenue for the business like a second class employee. With 5 radio stations in the Nashville market, Cumulus Media would generally staff around 20 sales people to cover the sales for the the market.
After 3 years on this job, I stopped counting the number of sales staff that had come and gone at By the time I had left, It was much higher. Most of the revenue generated comes from business already on the books and has passed hands as staff turnover occurs over time.
New blood comes in, generates some new business but not enough to survive, and when they leave their accounts are handed to a chosen employee It's like a private little club between a few sales pesonele and management. It's quite a shame that they continuously waste so much talent on an antiquated sales and customer service philosophy. As a sales rep on straight commission, you actually are employees by the customer whose account you manage and who ultimately pays your salary. This relationship creates a genuine bond between you and them as they trust you with a sizable budget, to make marketing decisions which best meet the clients goals.
As a Cumulus sales rep, ones finds themselves constantly torn between doing what's good for the client and pushing some new revenue - more Pros Meeting many notable people in this media driven business. Cons Too, Many, to List. Being a receptionist at Cumulus was a pretty average receptionist experience. Work tasks were not very challenging and I spent most of the day just alone at the front desk. The major downside was having to deal with angry and sometimes aggressive and threatening callers or visitors.
Pros Occasional free food. Cons Angry callers. Was at Cumulus for 8 years and they are an awful company to work at. Do not work at Cumuls!!! Cons So many. It is not a religious issue. I had my booster shot yesterday and I wear a face mask when I go to the store or to church. Radio stations that operated remotely by VoIP during much of the pandemic are requiring shows to be produced in person at the studio.
Plenty of misinformation out there. Think on this: a person who receives a polo vaccine would not expect to get polo afterwards.
It should. Think about it…. The goal of getting the shot is to not die and to minimize the effects of a breakthrough infection from someone who was not vaccinated.
If everybody was vaccinated very few people would be infected with breakthrough infections. Nobody who has been fully vaccinated has died from a breakthrough infection; since August I believe 5 talk show hosts who were not vaccinated have died for covid, a factor in NAB cancelling their convention that was supposed to be happening this week in Vegas. California, the state with the strictest covid policies, has the lowest number of new covid cases and deaths. I had 2 family members die after getting a covid shot so its not correct that no one dies.
You presume to know more about vaccines than the majority of experts who have dedicated their lives to medical science. You know… spending years, if not decades, of their lives learning everything there is to know.
Think about it. If this only affected her, she would be right. It is spread in the air. So when she shares a workspace with other people, her personal decision affects others. They have a company insurance plan, which, by the way, mandates an annual physical. They also mandate a no smoking policy in their offices. We need to learn that what we do as individuals affects others. One would think that someone who speaks to others every day on the radio would understand that.
If she feels strongly about her personal rights, then the company has now given her more time to focus on herself. These are the ramblings and weak justifications of someone who is also Jesus-induced and has failed to examine her priorities.
My body — my choice, my ass. This woman is so stultified that critical thinking is beyond her. Another American phenomenon crashing into and wrecking realities. Unfortunately now, that ignorance is amplified by Social Media and the Mainstream media, who are as desperate for eyes and ears as the easy to spot liar, grifter, coward, fraud and corrupt unfit incompetent Russian dupe we elected president.

I see the vaccine gestapo is out in full force today. You mean like the polio vaccine? Phil G, stop with the facts and common sense! She took a stand and was prepared for the consequences. I applaud her. You mean like the flu vaccine? Not really. The article neglected to say where this Scientist got her Medical Degree. Please enter your comment! Please enter your name here.
