Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, Inc. JALA is a non-profit law firm dedicated to providing free civil legal assistance to those who could not otherwise afford it. Under Florida law, there is no right to an attorney in a civil case, and legal aid lawyers and staff are often the only place many of our veterans and active duty military, elderly and at-risk citizens can turn to for help in wrongful foreclosures, evictions, debt collection and abuse cases.
