Which mitsubishi lancer is the best

2022.01.06 17:39

To be clear, the Mitsubishi Evo 10 came with what was supposed to be the successor to the turbo 2. The fully built 4G that was swapped in has been tuned to hp but is only one element of an overall project that was comprehensive to say the least.

Partnering with ASC Speedmetal for fab work including a point, motorsports-spec roll cage, RyWire for the car's electrical and plumbing, StreetFighter LA for the aero, and others, it seems like Ravi had all the heavy hitters on board for this unique venture. Our second Lancer Evolution from Thailand, Supachai "Champ" Pipatvet's Evo 7 is a hp occasional time-attack machine and not terribly unlike a lot of the Evos we've encountered over the years in SoCal, with the exception being this is a VII, which never came Stateside.

Champ's happens to stand out with a Tomei-stroked 2. Fernando Delarosa's Evo 9 is probably the most unusual looking one on this list due to its vinyl wrap inspired by Japanese clothing brand Bape, but don't be distracted by the livery; there's a lot going on here. The sedan's exterior is festooned in Voltex—front bumper, Cyber Street conversion, side skirts, rear diffuser, front and rear wide fenders, front and rear double over fenders, Type 5V GT Wing, GT hood, and more.

His Etuned whip makes north of hp and looks great doing it, with a titanium theme running through the engine bay that's facilitated by Sheepey Built, Chasing Js, Ebb Fabrication, and Dress Up Bolts. So here is, from worst to best, my ranking of all the Mitubishi Lancer Evolutions. Out of the first three, this is my favorite. The first exception out of two. The other exception of the rank. For me the Tommi Makinen Edition or 6.

But not only design-wise, also is mechanically better. The 6 looks weird with those foglights that are too big and bulgy. And the fact that this, the V and the IV, running with Gr. A spec beated the WRC spec cars in the rally championship shows how capable this machines were.

The first Evo I saw. It still had a 2. Handling, though, was still excellent. However, it was more powerful, developing hp and lb-ft. And for the first time, a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic was available. That being said, choosing between the models is fairly straightforward. The MR version is particularly desirable, due to its various factory mods. Evolution Net forum users report the Evo IX is essentially the same car, just with more power and a bit more refinement. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X, though, is a noticeably better daily-driver.

The Recaro seats are also more comfortable, and it has a more advanced traction control system. The Evolution 6 is one of the most popular versions because it was highly utilized in the world rally championship circuits , representing the final years of Mitsubishi's golden era.

In appearance, the foglights were reduced and moved to the side for better intake. This version is similar to the Evo 5 and 4, though Mitsubishi improved the cooling and durability. The power was the same as the previous generation though the RS version managed up to hp. The Evo 9 is the second last generation of the series and the end of the 4G63 engine.

It does not gain the respect of a higher placement on the list due to the failure to exceed expectations as the final 4G63 and the latent issues several owners have indicated. Chief among them include the thirsty fuel consumption and high maintenance costs. It also does not offer much compared to the previous Evo 8 and 7.

The Evo 7 was the first redesign of the Evo following the rally-bred series. It earns its spot not only because of external alterations marking the generation but also because of the velour interior and full leather Recaro seating. The chassis was made heavier, while the engine and suspension also enjoyed tweaks. It was the first Evo to have Active Center Differential, which, when combined with the active yaw control, made better four-wheel drifting.

The last Evolution is seen as a bit of a traitor to the series because of the 4B11 engine though it is the most stylish, technologically adept, and fastest perhaps. Instead of a six-speed manual, customers got a 6-speed twin-clutch transmission, though the five is optional. This Evo does have the same power as the last two generations on average, though the engine, but is significantly more modern than the previous iterations.

The best evolution has to be the Evo 8.
