Of course, Cat Nip makes quick work of it, especially the non-berserk variety with multi-hit attacks such as Trigger Happy, Black Sky, Four Dice or just throwing Gems at it.

Well, you can't defeat Vegnagun and then come back to the same game but you can save right before fighting it, then defeat it for the challenge before even fighting Angra Mainyu or finishing Via Infinito or anything else.
