It starts by being asked. In Animal Farm the animals defeat and overthrow Mr. Jones, a bad farmer who mistreats his animals. The animals try to recover from the horrible reign of Mr. Jones, and the story is about how they live after overthrowing the farmer.

Czar Nicholas II and Mr. Jones both struggled with their subjects and eventually were not fit to be a leader anymore. Jones, an inadequate farmer who mistreats his animals. Jones both struggled.

Animal Farm is an example of a political allegory because it uses fictional characters and elements, like animals, to explain historical occurrences during Soviet Russia. In animal farm there are many literary elements that help the reader identify how each character may be metaphoric of an actual character in the history of Soviet Russia.

The dogs that Napoleon raises. Russia was under imperial rule and led by Czar Nicholas II. The novella also makes a broader argument about political power and oppression in general. The central beliefs of Animalism are expressed in the Seven Commandments, painted on the wall of the big barn. Napoleon trains a litter of puppies to be loyal to him: when they are fully grown, he uses the dogs to chase Snowball, his main rival, off the farm.

Napoleon justifies his takeover by telling the other animals that Snowball was a traitor secretly working for the human farmers. Boxer does most of the work on the farm, and his strength and size give him a great deal of power. However, he is illiterate and trusting, which makes it easy for the pigs to trick him into submitting to their leadership. Orwell believed that something similar had happened to the Russian working class during the Soviet Revolution: the workers were powerful, and did all the work in the Soviet Union, but they were tricked and betrayed by Russian intellectuals.

Knowing that the animals are not familiar with money, Frederick pays for the timber in forged banknotes. When the forgery is discovered, Frederick attacks Animal Farm and destroys the windmill. The insulted Mr. Pilkington refuses to help the animals defend their farm. Mollie leaves Animal Farm because she has never fully embraced its new way of life, and she instead prefers the benefits of being owned by humans.

Of all the animals, Mollie has not risen to the demands of Animalism. Three topics addressed in this amazing book are anthropomorphism, foreshadowing, and motif. To start, the first topic, anthropomorphism, is used the entire book, as the animals are the main characters. George Orwell 's story Animal Farm is written in the form of an allegory. This story is an allegory because George Orwell uses the animals as symbolic figures to represent humans and the farm as a representation for a world war.

He also uses the events that happened in Russia at that time to represent the communist rule of the Soviet Union. In Animal Farm, Orwell uses Old Major, an old pig, to be a teacher to all the other animals on the farm to help them learn how to exist in a world where animals can rule without humans.

Old Major tries to teach the animals that without humans ruling, animals could do a better job and by taking over the farm where they live, they could finally be free and not under the communist rule of humans. After Old Major dies, three pigs - Napoleon, Snowball, and Squealer - lead the animals into a revolution against the farm owner, Mr. Jones, and succeed. As time progresses and the top three pigs acquire status among all the other animals, a leader emerges.

Napoleon begins to show his true colors as a forceful ruler which is similar to the concept of communism. Another way that Orwell uses rhetoric in this story is he details the manipulation that Napoleon uses to gain complete and total control of all of the animals in the farm. For example, when the original seven …show more content… He did this because it is not feasible for animals to overthrow humans and take over and rule a kingdom.

Instead, his choices are carefully calibrated to evoke a desired response from the reader. Whiskey represents corruption. When Boxer is sold to the Knacker, Napoleon uses the money to purchase whiskey. With this act, Napoleon fully embodies the human qualities that the animals once revolted against.

The final product is of inferior quality, much like many of the projects undertaken by the Soviets post-revolution. In the end the Windmill is used to enrich Napoleon and the other pigs at the expense of the other animals. The Seven Commandments of Animalism, written on the barn wall for all to see, represent the power of propaganda and the malleable nature of history and information when the people are ignorant of the facts.

The commandments are altered throughout the novel; each time they are changed indicates that the animals have moved even further away from their original principles. Actively scan device characteristics for identification.
