Can I assume Deus Ex is like most newer shooters and requires a fair amount of cover? James Oh yes, forgot about takedowns. It really depends on how you play and what augmentations you upgrade, but early on when you're very weak you really do need to stick to cover a lot.

Give it a try, then if you can't handle it two hours in, refund it! Also, I don't believe there is any view bobbing, and you might be able to change the FOV to a higher or lower number if you feel motion sick. It appears you're suffering from motion sickness.
