Got a response from them 5 minutes after posting ticket. Only bad part is they sent me the wrong redemption code. I ordered Hangover 2 and they sent me code for Harry Potter deathly hollows part 2. I read the posts regarding this and did the support center ticket. They no longer or at least they won't for me give codes for itunes via email. But did reply for my redemption code which I had already given them , and address, and they are sending me a copy through the mail to download directly weeks for delivery. Arkling said:. We were already there and wanted to not waste our time, so we just went with it and saw it in 2-D again. Very frustrating to get excited to see a movie in IMAX only to be let down by a faulty app. Whether it was wrong information retrieved by Flixter from the company the runs the theater, or some other reason, I'm tempted to just dump it altogether.

I ask Flixter to get its act together so I don't have to be disappointed like this in the future. Choosing a 3 star rating until I see something is done. I'll check back. But then again I suppose it depends on how you use it.

Some features might be 1-star horrible and others 5-star great. The reason I like this app best is when you tap the theater it shows the list of movies playing and the Rotten Tomatoes and user score right there to see. And if you then tap the movie you can then read the aggregated and reviews just like you can on the Rotten Tomatoes website. You can also play the movie preview. The other apps have these features too but you have to dig deeper to find them e.

They are gone now for no apparent reason. Please, please, please fix the Rotten Tomatoes aspect of Flixster to how it was before, as it was the easiest way to see what movies were coming out, check reviews and find movie times. When a Disney Movies Anywhere code is redeemed, the purchaser receives access to a version on Disney's service, an iTunes copy, a Google Play digital copy, and a copy that will play on Vudu. Making the situation even more confusing is that Disney does sell movies on Vudu and CinemaNow -- but they are not UltraViolet versions.

That said, if a Disney movie is purchased on one of the aforementioned non-UltraViolet services iTunes, Google Play , it should appear in the other three cloud lockers as well. There are a lot of major devices out there that can play back UltraViolet videos, all that is needed is a compatible app. Those same UltraViolet apps are capable of streaming their videos to Google's very inexpensive Chromecast.

Note that the Flixster app on Amazon Fire TV currently only supports standard-definition playback, however. Notably, the Vudu app does not support AirPlay playback. Movies in the UltraViolet format are usually available to be streamed real-time YouTube-style playback, requiring an active Internet connection or downloaded for offline playback later, such as on an airplane or other wireless-challenged environment on PCs and mobile devices.

On phones and tablets, the download and playback is handled within the UltraViolet-compatible apps, including Vudu or Flixster. Purchased movies will appear in the download section of those programs.

On a PC or Mac, the same restriction usually applies -- you need to download a special Vudu player for Vudu video, for instance. It would allow a download of a movie that could, in theory, be more easily transported between devices. In the meantime, you'll need to download copies on each device you intend to view them on offline, however. If you haven't noticed, we keep coming back to Vudu. How do you get movies on your iPad?
