While they feuded on WCW television, things were even more tense backstage. Things reached their peak when Flair punched Bischoff in the face while the two worked together in WWE. However, months after the incident, the two became drinking buddies and buried the hatchet.

Flair and Bischoff would go on to work together on a variety of wrestling projects and be great friends overall. John Cena and The Rock shared real-life animosity for some time before becoming friends that admire each other greatly. Before working together in WWE, Cena accused The Rock of being hypocritical, due to The Rock's claims of loving wrestling but always putting his acting career first. Things even got heated when the two worked together in WWE when Cena called out The Rock on television for having his promo written down on his wrist.

Edge and Matt Hardy's friendship dissolved when Hardy's girlfriend at the time, Lita, ended up having an affair with Edge. To make matters worse, WWE used the real-life incident to create an on-screen angle between the two.
