Fallout 3 should i be good or bad

However, that may be partly due to personal bias, since I have a rather strong tendency to prefer whichever game in a series I played first, which in this case was FO3. That's where the similarities end. They're practically different series. New Vegas is a continuation of and thus has more similarities with 1 and 2, while 3 is a reboot that has nothing to do with everything else and 4 continued in that manner.
Fallout 3 is alright at best. A lot of the game is designed with the mindset of "wouldn't it be cool if As a result, there is a town that has been built around an undetonated atom bomb, a cult of vampires, a society of just children, "superheroes," and a random hotel of snobs, just for the sake of having someplace an evil person can live in.
The story is almost entirely focused on appealing to emotion, with your character trying to find your dad, and the heavy themes of martyrdom despite the fact that there has never been a single point in Fallout 3 where it was necessary.
If you analyze the story, you'll notice that a lot of motives are driven by pure stupidity. Your dad wants to purify water so that others may have an adequate drinking supply, but the bad guys want to take the purifier over by force. So they could turn on the purifier instead of your dad. Gameplay is very bare compared to the original Fallout titles, having removed a lot of mechanics that added to the complexity of character builds. The removal of traits and providing players a perk-per-level removed a lot of intricacies of making your character.
As a result, by the endgame, your character becomes a Jack of all trades, master of all. The same happens in New Vegas with its 50 level cap, but it did have to appeal to the populace, especially considering the crowd that Bethesda tends to gather.
