Critical aclaim: This album was, yet again, praised by critics and fans alike. Due to the downstep of shockvalue lyrics and an increase in more personal material, this album did not dissapoint critics in the slightest at the time. Significance to his career: Not taking anything away from this record in any way, but this is not as important to his career as the albums that came before, but still it proved that Eminem was still on the top of his game and comercial appeal, this being the second best selling hip-hop album of all time, just behind the album that came before it.


Replay Value: This album is vastly different from anything Eminem ever had released up to that point. While his other albums would incorperate dark humor and offensive jokes in relativly smal doses and focus more on his personal life and technical abilities as a lyricist and rapper, Encore takes an alternative approach, comedy and joking tracks being the main focus of this record, and it really suffers from that as Eminems skills and lyricism take a backseat to a newfound simple and slow delivery.


It is important to note that Eminem had serious drug issues during this period in his career and that definiatly affected his overall vision for this album. One track standing out however, is Like Toy Soldiers, a plea to end beefs in hiphop that had costed several people their lives. His flow, lyricism and message is unlike anything else from the record and provides a great listen. Critical aclaim: This album was seen as a huge letdown by critics, and is widely considered Eminems worst album to date.


Critics ripped this record to shreds and it does not score very high in this category. Significance to his career: After this project, Eminem would never claim the heights that he once had, falling in relevancy in popculture and the mainstream. While still remaining incredeibly popular, Eminem lost a lot of fans because of this record, so it definiatly had a very negative effect on his career.


Replay value: Relapse was a return to the old Slim Shady persona that had last been used on the Marshall Mathers LP, and mostly focused on the creepy, sereal killer character Eminem rapper from the perspective from. His rhyme schemes on here are some of his best, and the production being outstanding, the legendary Dr.


Dre being the main man behind the beats and instrumentals. However Eminem uses certain Strange accents on almost every track to make rhyming easier, and it takes away from the serious tone many of the tracks try to create.


Also, this album is very low on selfawarenes even though he had plenty to talk about, as he was going through many personal issues at the time.


The albums lyrics are also pretty imature. Critical aclaim: Critics had very high hopes for this record. Eminem had been away from the music industry for a long time, and this was set to be his triumphant return to form. Unfortunaly, a lot of critics were turned off by the accents, and the lyrical immaturity. It was generally percieved as a mediocre to awful album. Significance to his career: This album did not do anything for Eminems career. His die-hard fans supported it, but it never really broke into the public eye like some of his previous projects had.


It gathered very mixed opinions at best, and even though some people enjoyed it, it worsened his status in the rap game, and made a lot of people give up on his abbilities to make quality albums.


Replay Value: Recovery ventured into sounds Eminem had never even touched before. This album has more comercial appeal than any of his former projects, while still delving into serious topics such as his addiction and personal struggles like on Talking To Myself, and storytelling tracks about dysfunctional relationships like on Love the Way You Lie and Spacebound.


The production suits his new found sound and delivery perfectly, and while this might not be as raw as Relapse or The Slim Shady LP, it goes deeper into his personal struggles than anything he had ever released up to that point and therefore it has a pretty high replay.
