Why ddr2
The generation of RAM used with a computer is closely tied to the development of processors and motherboards. As companies like Intel come out with new CPU technology, they require new motherboard chipsets. This is a set of electronic components that let all the parts of a computer communicate properly.
New generations of RAM are necessary to work with the latest chipsets. Without these advancements, we wouldn't be able to put RAM into newer systems. Importantly, RAM is not backwards or forwards-compatible. It's thus vital when building or upgrading a PC that you buy the right generation of RAM for compatibility. Each generation of RAM has its notch in a slightly different position, so it's impossible to put the wrong type in your computer. While you're unlikely to find DDR2 RAM in many places today it did become available back in it's still useful for comparison.
DDR3 takes this even further, as it can produce eight transfers for every clock cycle. When it comes to speed, DDR3 is unsurprisingly faster. Voltage is another important aspect of RAM generations.
Effectively, it doubles the transfer rate without increasing the frequency of the clock. This is achieved by improved bus signal. They can make the memory control the refresh rate according to the temperature variation. DDR4 adds four new Bank Groups technology. Each bank group has the feature of singlehanded operation. It has been the most expensive memory combination for this class of memory I have ever seen. DDR2 has all but been classified as dinosaur memory, but still - in , even after two generations of memory has surpassed it - I cannot find it for sale ANYWHERE without the prices just as high as it was when it was new. Why is it in that DDR2 isn't dirt cheap, dig through the pile at the flea market price??? I'm seriously looking at just throwing my system out and buying another - would be cheaper than the 6 gigs of DDR2 that I've been waiting for to come down in price forever.

Using both beats to transfer data makes double data rate memory significantly faster than single data-rate memory, which used only one edge of the clock signal to transfer data. This is called 2-bit prefetch.
Double data-rate is different than dual-channel memory. Learn about dual-channel memory here. DDR2 was introduced in and operates external data twice as fast as DDR due to an improved bus signal. This reduce usage allows for lower operating currents and voltages. DDR operates are about 2. DDR4 is the latest generation of double data-rate random access memory. It has the lowest operating voltage of 1. DDR4 introduced bank groups to avoid having a prefetch of 16, which is not desirable. With bank groups, each group can execute 8-bits of data independently from the other.
This means DDR4 can process multiple data requests within a clock cycle. Crucial Ballistix MAX modules broke numerous overclocking world records in
