Ursprungligen skrivet av Pzowned88 :. Ursprungligen skrivet av Hipster :. Ursprungligen skrivet av Rema23 :. Durr, why do people like gold? It does nothing, it's just shiny. Yet people spend thousands of paper currency on it, to either have in in a vault in the form of bars, or wear it around their necks or fingers. Even worse when you wear it, you keep losing some of it from contact.

I sure hope you are trolling or 12 years old if you don't get why people like to have, collect or trade things that look good.

People like shiny stuff , that is all. OR you can drop in some money , and be different. That said , i dont buy equips , got a ward and a anouncer cause they change the game more , 1 hero looks is not worth that much money. It offered a few goodies, like a new courier, heads-up display, and cosmetic skin for a hero to wear in-game. As the years went on, the Compendium grew. More items were added, like loot boxes with random draws for cosmetic items of extreme rarity.

Fantasy Dota was built into the Compendium, allowing users to draft players and set a lineup to earn points from match results. Effigies and map overhauls, new user-interfaces, and voice lines all began to show up as rewards for Compendium users.

Dota 2 will be free to play. All heroes will be available free of charge, with Valve writing on the Dota 2 blog : "We believe restricting player access to heroes could be destructive to game design, so it's something we plan to avoid. Upon opening, the Dota Store will offer items created by Valve and members of the community that may be used immediately and carried over after the public launch of the game.

Early access to the game will not be required to purchase items before launch. However, those wishing to get into the game now can do so by purchasing the Dota 2 Early Access Bundle of items through Steam.

Valve also announced that Dota 2 is now part of the Steam Workshop, a place for fan-created content that can be voted on by other players and translated to the official game by the Valve development team with the original creator of the content receiving a slice of the sales from the in-game store.
