What is pleasing to god

Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Therefore we also have as our ambition, whether at home or absent, to be pleasing to Him. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

Children, be obedient to your parents in all things, for this is well-pleasing to the Lord. Finally then, brethren, we request and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us instruction as to how you ought to walk and please God just as you actually do walk , that you excel still more. First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.

This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,. For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men?

If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ. And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. It is your faith in Jesus that will grant you access to God. Most people accept this level of grace when it pertains to salvation.

Your actions may not please God today, but you can be healed or delivered in spite of it. Unholiness will hurt you. It will harden your heart toward God. You must eat to stay alive, but eating is not life. If you miss one meal, will you die? If you constantly live in sin and never feed yourself spiritually, it will kill you.

I am not saying you should ignore your actions. Luke 22 shows us an example of someone who had faith and pleased God. In verses 31 and 32 Jesus is talking to Peter before the crucifixion. He denied the Lord three times. He was restored to God and went on to become a pillar of the church. Some of you may be thinking, This is great — I can live like the devil and still get what I want from God.

This word is for Christians who have a desire to serve God but who still sin. When that happens, you go on and catch up and stand there with confidence in your Savior. Your faith in Jesus pleases God. None of us get saved and head straight on the path to God. Proverbs The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.
