On each individual product page, you can often find the fit of each particular garment within its name. Below you will find more detail on of the different types of fit for Barbour products, however please do feel free to contact us for further guidance. We are always happy to give advice based on our knowledge of Barbour products.. A more generous fit than the regular and tailored styles. Other colors of the waxed jacket include black, navy, bark, and rustic a dark brown color. Barbour recommends reproofing your jacket every year, the wax keeps the jacket waterproof after all.

Also, replacing and repairing parts on your Barbour is more expensive and more time consuming since you must send it to Barbour to fix the item. You can see a full list of services and repairs offered here. The Waxed Beadnell Jacket that I have is not by any means a winter jacket if you live anywhere that gets snow. However, anyone who lives in a Northern region of the world may find they need linings inside of their waxed jacket to keep them warm.

You can find some great zip-in accessories here , and remember that this will add bulk to your jacket which might make it fit more snugly. If you anticipate getting a lining and wanting to wear this jacket for winter, you might want to size up again to accommodate all the extra layers during the colder months.

While both jackets give a boxier shape, the Beadnell is the more feminine and flattering silhouette whereas the Bedale has a unisex, boxier fit.

The Bedale does NOT have plaid underneath the collar and the sleeves are longer than the Beadnell and do not have the interior plaid lining. What I love about the Barbour Beadnell Waxed Jacket is that it is a classic style that will never go out of fashion and it is extremely well constructed with functional pockets for both keeping your hands warm and storing things like a phone, shotgun shells, etc.

You will have this jacket for a lifetime no doubt! Hi Cynthia! What size would you recommend based on this? I appreciate your help! Hi Andrew, Sorry for the delay. There are probably two styles I was talking about in the post. If you want a wax jacket for her, if her normal jacket size is a 4, a size UK 6 should be good.

Hope this helps! I am in between buying a 4 or a 6 US Sizing. Hope you can help me out! I think the size 4 would work well for you. I just ordered my Barbour Beadnell in Sage from Tuckernuck but mine looks waaayyy darker than yours does! It also seems like they just waxed it today, so I was wondering if you new how the wax affects the color.

I would reach out to Barbour directly about it or exchange it to Tuckernuck. I have the classic olive Beadnell but want to get one of the quilted ones. More on that in the next section. In general, I recommend going into a store if you can, and trying on the jackets. Every Barbour jacket fits differently, every. If you wash your wax jacket, it will strip the wax, and it will never be able to be rewaxed, effectively ruining the jacket.

Simply take a damp sponge or towel, and gently wipe off the dirt. That being said, this means you need to keep on top of rewaxing your jacket, otherwise the wax will wear off, expose the cotton, and then the cotton will get dirty. You need to rewax your jacket every years.

If you are feeling adventurous, you can buy the can of Barbour wax and give it a go yourself! This video shows you how to rewax a jacket yourself. So how do you know when your jacket needs a rewax? A good indication is a general lightening in color of the entire jacket. Also, there may be an unevenness in color see the photo above for this.

Raindrops that start to soak in rather than bead up is another good sign that your jacket is due for a reproofing. The North Carolina facility also does repairs, from a small patch to cover a whole, to an entire panel replacement for larger tears. They alter jackets as well, so if you are like me and have long arms, or the opposite, you can get the arms and body of your jacket lengthened or shortened. The body can also be let out, or taken in. You can even send your jacket in to be customized with leather trimming, have elbow patches added, and even have it monogrammed!

As of right now, Barbour has a website where you can see the products, but it does not have an e-commerce site, and there are no online outlets. A: You will need to get your jacket rewaxed every years, depending on how often you wear it. If you are wearing it every day, you will need to send it in once a year. If you are wearing it only one or two seasons out of the year, every years should be sufficient before it needs reproofing.

When your jacket becomes lighter in color, becomes uneven in color, or when the water starts soaking in rather than beading up, that is an indicator that your jacket needs to be taken in for a rewax. A: I wear my Barbour through the New England winter. That being said, I do not wear it outside for extended periods of time, and I almost always have a warm wool sweater underneath.

A: It does not bother me at all, because they are meant to have a relaxed fit, and I love a good chunky sweater underneath. A: As of yet, I have not found anything that matches the quality, durability, and uniqueness of Barbour. However, if this is still too much for you to spend, yet you really want a Barbour, try stopping by one of the Barbour outlet stores in New Hampshire, Maine, New York, or Chicago.
