The game is designed for Secondary School students, with a focus on Uniformed Groups for the initial roll-out. Bringing Total Defence to Life! It will be held from April to August and will involve primarily youths. The discussions will also gather ideas to support the refresh of the five TD icons shown below.
Through the sharing of stories, visuals and co-created content tagged with WeAreTotalDefence, we hope that more Singaporeans will recognise how their everyday actions can contribute to Total Defence and be inspired to do more to keep Singapore safe and strong.
From 7 February to 19 March , the Singapore Discovery Centre SDC will be organising a special Total Defence exhibition targeted at students in the primary, secondary and tertiary levels.
The experiential showcase will comprise three thematic zones: i reflecting on the fall of Singapore; ii recognising that threats are evolving and hence the continued relevance of Total Defence then and now; and iii appreciating how individuals have played and can continue to play their part in Total Defence. As with past years, representatives from government organisations, uniformed services, diplomatic corps, business associations, religious organisations, veterans and families of the victims, as well as students will be attending the memorial event.

In , Defence Minister Dr Ng Eng Hen talked about how Singapore's Total Defence strategy is the "exact antagonist" of hybrid warfare, an orchestrated campaign to fracture the solidarity of the target nation through undermining its defences in civil, economic, social, psychological and military spheres.
At the Committee of Supply Debate in , he reiterated that hybrid warfare is the "antithesis of Total Defence". Over the years, the relevance of Total Defence as a concept to tackle national challenges has thus increased in the light of the ever evolving threat landscape.
However, while the narrative and theme of TD has always been adjusted and adapted over the years to reflect the security threats and challenges Singapore faces, the core message then and now remains relevant — that every Singaporean has a part to play through each pillar of TD. The posters below reflect the evolving narratives of Total Defence since , from rallying behind the SAF to addressing threats like terrorism and encouraging Singaporeans to play a part and put TD into action in their daily lives.
The first TD logo, in the familiar shape of a hand, was the winning entry of a competition organised by the Ministry of Defence back in The guidelines were to design a logo that would depict the first TD theme, "There's a part for everyone in total defence of Singapore".
