The Wrangler has entered the modern era, with more creature comforts, updated safety gear, and an available four-door model. Its off-road performance is very impressive. While on-road ride, handling, and refinement are improved, they are still not competitive.

I would hate to drive anything else, but it seems that if they can't get it fixed, I will be trading it in for a Chevrolet. As you can see, I gave it all 5 star ratings because the Jeep really is an awsome car. I just got a lemon. I love my Jeep. It is the fourth Jeep I have owned and probably the best one yet. I have had no leak problems or any other for that matter.
I am getting 22 to 24 MPG unless I am pulling my boat and then it goes down to 13 to 15 but that is still great. I have no problem with the power but I did not buy mine to race and it gets up and goes when I need it too. I love the way the hardtop breaks down and prefer driving this 4 door jeep over my other regular wrangler although I still swap out often because my teenage daughter likes the four door better due to the amount of room for her and friends.
Very under powered, 6 months old and has been in shop 9 times once towed in, but is always fixable at the dealer, and always something different. Very expensive for what it is. Interior is OK, but cheap. Poor quality control, and Dealing with Chrysler is awful, different customer service personnel every time and nothing gets done.
Biggest mistake I ever made. Last Chrysler product I will ever buy. By the way I have owned 4 other Jeeps in the past ranging from , and will never buy again after the experiences with this one. I have a fully loaded Jeep Sahara - my 5th Jeep, and once again Chrysler disappoints. I don't know who the suits are that create the options, but they obviously don't drive Jeeps.
For starters, the Jeep is clumsy - it looks cool, like a mini-Hummer style, but the steering is not as direct as previous models and the engine is definitely less responsive. The car is by far the biggest gas guzzler I've ever owned I have a six speed manual and when switching gears on highway, it is hard to differentiate between 4th and 6th. I find myself accidentally downshifting from 5th to 4th meaning to go to 6th.
The sluggish engine is frustrating in city traffic because it is so unresponsive. Given this Jeep is heavier and safter than previous models, it definitely needs more torque for weaving in and out of traffic.
My Sahara was lighter and faster - definitely more direct and easy to manuever. This Jeeep easily can drift. Also, the shifter shakes over every bump. Know that I am a street Jeep person, never ever have been off road in 5 Jeeps over 10 years, but I couldn't imagine how annoyed I'd be off-road if simple highway and city driving makes that tranny feel ike it's on suspension.
Another problem is the compartments inside - big, dumb center console could be utilized better maybe two compartments and cup holders do not really hold beverages especially in backseat. Granted the car is a convertible, it should have at least have a covered tray near the shifter or someplace to hold a phone or ipod out of the blazing sun. I see lots of wasted space in console - should be compartmentalized better - I'm certain the suits at Chrysler know this and it will probably be offered in next year's model, as the next few years will offer likely minor upgrades of course interchangable with previous year.
Note the AC is not even close to previous models - overall, total disappointment. I wish Chrysler would hire someone like myself to think for Jeep drivers. I have a Rubicon Unlimited - by far the best one yet. On some of the toughest sections, we were switching the quick-acting front-diff lock several times within 50 feet to trade traction for turning ability.
Moving those switches from the bottom of the console to the steering wheel would be a useful improvement when playing mountain goat. The three skid plates and the tubular-steel rock rails that come with the Rubicon package collected plenty of scary-sounding Zambian scratches. But they protected the main underside mechanical components as they were designed to do. The four-door Wrangler Unlimited has a Despite their length, the Unlimiteds on the trip made it through every challenge the two-doors did.
These JKs are on sale this fall and should be priced much like the previous models. Whether you spend your time in the African jungle or the asphalt jungle, if you're a Wrangler fan, you'll like the new machine. New Cars. Buyer's Guide. Type keyword s to search. Today's Top Stories.
