Some of the most powerful items available through the Blacksmith's crafting system require so-called Ascended items as part of the recipe. These very basic items can often be found in chests or weapon and armour racks. Act 5 in particular is stuffed to the brim with these low-level items, so smash every box and loot every rack you come across if you're hunting down a specific piece. If you find any Ascended items as you play through the game, try to avoid selling them.
