Which alchemy specialization is best

Now you can see any of the three specialization trainers and specialize without additional cost or questing. The trainers are the same NPCs where you can get your specialization quests. Elixir Master - Lorokeem in Shattrath City. Transmute Master - Zarevhi at Stormspire in Netherstorm. Zygor's Leveling Guide I recommend trying Zygor's Leveling Guide if you are still leveling your character or you just started a new alt.

I use Zygor's guide for leveling and I highly recommend it. This is an easy Alchemy specialization quest and upon completion, you will become an Elixir Master. After handing the quest in, accept part 2 of Master of Potions. Before granting you the specialization, Lauranna needs:. Lauranna will reward you with Elixir Master. This specialization is the cheapest and easiest of all three Alchemy specializations to acquire. After handing in part 1, Zarevhi offers Master of Transmutation part 2.

You need to bring Zarevhi:. After bringing the 4 Primal Might s to Zarevhi , he will share his knowledge of how to become a Transmutation Master with you. This is the most expensive of all three Alchemy specializations because the raw materials of Primal Might are very expensive and they can be transmuted only once every 20 hours. If you want to become a Transmutation Master or any of the Alchemy specializations after your initial choice, there is a simple trick to speed up the process.

By paying gold to the NPC who gave you your current Alchemy specialization, you can de-specialize and learn another specialization from the three specialization trainers for free.

This can be repeated and is the cheapest way of becoming a Transmutation Master, as Elixir Master is chosen as an Alchemist's first spec. In TBC Classic, some Alchemy creations are learned from Alchemy Trainers, some exist as Recipe items out in the world, and some are learned through discovery. While Recipe items can come as drops or be bought from vendors, discoveries can only be made by crafting Alchemy items from Outland.

Each time you craft anything, there is a small chance to make a discovery and learn recipes not available otherwise. Below you will find a list of all trainable, buyable, and discoverable Alchemy crafts, along with their use or effect. Cauldrons can only be discovered when making their related Protection potion; crafting a Major Shadow Protection Potion can discover the recipe for a Cauldron of Major Shadow Protection , for example.

Some of these Recipes drop from enemies, some are sold from vendors, and some require reputation with a faction to be bought. This guide has been written by Wrdlbrmpft aka Arcanaenus, playing Mage since He is usually found in the Mage discord , where you may also ask him questions his guides do not answer.

Alchemists are well loved when they hand out potions. Illustrious Grand Master is only available after installing the expansion Cataclysm. Zen Master is only available after installing the expansion Mists of Pandaria.

Draenor Master is only available after installing the expansion Warlords of Draenor. Legion Master is only available after installing the expansion Legion. Prior to patch 4. Potions , elixirs and flasks required some type of vial , which could be purchased from any trade goods vendor.

There were five types of vials: Empty, used to create lower-level potions; Leaded, used to create mid-level potions; and Crystal, Imbued, or Enchanted vials, used to create higher-level potions and flasks. This is no longer the case. There is only one vial now, the [ Crystal Vial ]. Herbalism is not technically required, but is highly recommended as nearly every alchemy recipe requires Herbs to make and herbalism can alleviate most of the cost of leveling up.

Also, the wide variety of different herbs makes it difficult to simply purchase what you need from other players, because many potions will require more than one type of herb to make and the herbs are often very expensive.

As of patch 3. Alchemist's transmutations of various Primals into other Primals. Eternal transmutations. High-level alchemists can also perform transmutations on elemental materials and some metals for use with other tradeskills. Arcanite , which is used in high-level pre- Blacksmithing recipes, cannot be mined — it can only be transmuted from Arcane Crystal , which is derived from Thorium.

Other transmutations are possible; see the recipe list below. Before an alchemist can perform transmutations, he or she must create a [ Philosopher's Stone ] or equivalent. This stone must be in the inventory or equipped to perform any transmutations, and it is not consumed when a transmutation is done. Making multiple Philosopher's Stones will not reduce the cool down time. Philosopher's Stones are also soulbound and cannot be disenchanted, so it is not advised to create more than one.

As of patch 2. After transmuting Gold , Truesilver or Truegold , you must wait until real-world midnight before performing any other transmutation. Other cooldowns vary based on the level of the transmute. However, you can transmute as much Arcanite as you wish without any kind of cooldown.

Elemental essences can also be transmuted. Essence transmutes have a cooldown of 20 hours, as does a transmute of Iron into Gold. There is also a transmute for transforming a Heart of Fire into three Elemental Fires on a minute cooldown available with reputation gains from the Thorium Brotherhood.

This section concerns content exclusive to The Burning Crusade. This is available to any player as a stacking mechanism. Motes can be converted to Primal elements but not converted back — and since motes are used in some recipes, be cautious when farming as to which you will need.

You can always sell the extras. They might actually bring in more gold for the mats. It could be different this time around though. Spamming Super Mana Potions and Mana Emeralds to keep my mana up every 2 minutes in a fight is going to consume a lot and being a potions master will offset the drain. Say if I made 5, I got to keep 2.

If I made 3 or 4, I would take 1.
