Ayr 8 Ball Pool Club. Citadel Leisure Centre. Write a review Upload a photo. Most Recent. Very good. Went there today with a lot of family members to get out of the rain as it was recommended by friends. Not only were we charged for entry more than quoted prices on internet, the staff are very poor at treating customers fairly and manager handled a complaint from us very poorly calling names and raising their voices in front of our children.
I would stay clear from now on as seems to have went downhill! It clearly states that you can not bring your own food and drink into our premises as we have our own cafeteria that caters for a wide range of dietary needs and on the fourth time of the receptionist politely asking them to put their stuff away the general manager had to intervene and was greeted with animosity.

I asked for no-one to be dressed up as one of the children had a phobia, staff ignored me and "pirate pete" turned up, children hugely distressed due to this awful day waste of money. Complained to a manager nothing done about it, so angry!
Im sorry to hear that you had a bad experience. Can you tell me when you had the party? As the only party we have had with your surname had a great time and left a comment card saying so which we still have.
Also do you know what manager you spoke to as there is only 2 managers and neither one of us recalls this matter? We like to deal with any problems that may occur straight away so no one leaves unhappy and our staff are well equiped to bring any problems to our attention as.
We do have an under 5's section and an under 2's section to keep the bigger kids away from the younger ones which is very popular with parents, although the younger ones can still go into the main area, this is up to the parents where the kids play we DO NOT seperate them. I'm actually writing this as I stand two hours and 13 minutes into what I can only describe as the worst soft play experience ever.
Firstly we had the session booked from pm. We paid this money for each child however about 5 minutes later the rest of the nursery arrived and were permitted free of charge.
Needless to say I spoke to staff and was given my money back with an apology. It then took until 2. It was served by staff who appeared particularly unfriendly and unhelpful and who just looked like they didn't want to be there and to be fair I don't blame them. The whole place is an utter shambles with no coordination or control anywhere. Twice I had to ask them to clean up blood from the soft play area after a little boy hit his nose.
In general it was just a shambles with no control. Too many parties booked in and no thought as to seating arrangements. Would definitely advise an alternative day out. Firstly yes your group was booked in from pm however your busses dropped you off at 12pm and a lot of your group then wanted to come in early and yes they were charged for the extra hour it is not our fault that it was cold outside. You in particular were given a refund as you arrived around 15minutes before the group was booked in which was not an issue.
You were booked in as a group but rather than arriving as a group you all appeared in dribs and drabs and as separate families. As your group was booked in from pm the kids get fed around an hour or so once your session has started. This was explained to a couple of people in your group and the leader. The leader did ask if the kids could be fed earlier as some of them were starting to get bored as they had been in soo long already again this is not our fault but this was also explained that we could not feed them until this time due to the fact one of are party rooms were already in use with another party that was booked in from and with the amount of kids you had we would need both rooms.
At this time we did put on some party games and a disco which we did not have to do. We hold one party on the hour every hour so you were not double booked and in fact were fed when they should be. As to your comment regarding there was no consideration to seating arrangements this is quite odd as all your tables were clearly reserved on the far right hand side of the upstairs seating. As was the seating for the other parties.
Unfortunately yes there was a wee boy that had a nose bleed and although we take every care in cleaning up the area sometimes spots are missed as I am sure you can understand that with the child running about it can get everywhere. These two spots were cleaned up when they were pointed out straight away and were not left. Your comment regarding my staff, the party girls work very hard and if you check out our fb page a party that was on at the same time as yours has a totally different opinion of the girls and so did the rest of the groups and parties that were booked in on the same day.
I feel maybe whoever organised this event should of put a little bit more thought into the actual running of the event and communicated a bit more effectively with the time of lunch etc so that there would be no miss understanding. Also maybe put some thought into what was going to happen arriving an hour early and what the back up plan would be in the case of rain and not being able to play outside in the play park which was obviously the original plan from the beginning.
Thank you for visiting Pirate Petes Scotland's only four star visit Scotland indoor play. Why do you feel you should you get a refund?
You say you didn't have your "crystal ball" in order to know there was an upstairs, surely looking up if you did to look for your child , you would be hard pressed not to see there is an upstairs!. Additionally, should our staff have a crystal ball? You compare us to a Glasgow softplay which I wont name but you gave a fab review of the day after you gave us a bad one!!!???
It seems, within 5 minutes you had made your mind up, we look in need of a refurb, staff are rubbish Blah blah blah All in 5 minutes. Ulterior motives stand out here. Gifts for bibliophiles. Book Bundles.
