Why is hot fuzz rated r

From the get go you get the feeling that there is more to this film than meets the eye. Quirky from the start you soon find out a much deeper darker plot lies hidden in the this quaint little town. Keep in mind this is a film—and a comedy at that.

Believe it or not there is very little sexual humor to be found. Mostly slapstick and one liners. I found both the language and the violence more tame than Shaun. Negative —This film, like all films, had a message to convey. The hero, Sgt. Angel, is an agnostic, and throughout the film tells us that he knows right from wrong, apart from God.

The herky-jerky scene interludes in the movie were frequent and confusing, detracting from the technical merits of the film. Negative —…No Christian should be watching this. I consider myself fairly open-minded when it comes to films, but I finished watching this movie feeling absolutely filthy.

There are some laughs, yes. But the price of those laughs takes the form of the most gruesome violence I have ever seen. Parody or not, this movie is incapable of edifying anyone. Please avoid it. Positive —This movie is hilarious! I loved it and bought my own copy finally a week or so ago. While it is violent, grusomely a few times; and it has 19 f-words, this film is still highly enjoyable! If you can deal with the language and the violence, this film is a must! Yes, there is violence but that is why its a spoof, people, of all the other even more violent buddy cop movies out there.

Yes, people get shot, but nobody even gets killed in the final 30 minute long shootout in the village square. This film is hilarious and funny and smart as well and a biting satire I recomend this and give it its more appropriate rating of offensive extremely offensive rating is just ridiculous.

And, of course, remember though this is an R-rated movie so if your not allowed to see this just watch the Monty Python movies. No child I've ever known has waited until they're actually seventeen to watch an R-rated movie, myself included. Even though there's some questionable content, it should be perfectly fine for teenagers. Lots of bloody albeit unrealistic violence--spurting blood, decapitated heads, corpses, a woman stabbed in the neck with garden shears, a man's head crushed by falling stone, etc.

The movie ends with a spectacular gunfight, a few grisly injuries. Again, however, take it all with a grain of salt; though there's some gruesome imagery, everything shown is stylized and far from graphic.

Some strong language, but much less than in most other R-rated titles; "f--k," "s--t," and their various permutations are most common along with terms like "pr--k," and "wanker. Some obscene hand gestures.

Large amounts of drinking throughout the movie. Several scenes take place in a bar, and dozens of characters drink to excess--including teenagers.

A man attempts to drive under influence; crashes into a fountain. Two characters get drunk together. Most of those working in the police department smoke cigarettes. Overall, Hot Fuzz is a unique action movie with self-aware humor and likable characters. Don't be too deterred by common sense media's rating, which is, at least in my opinion, pretty unfair. There's blood and gore, but none of it looks too real--language is pretty infrequent and, though there's a lot of drinking, as long as your kids are mature enough to understand boundaries and act appropriately they'll be fine.

Nobody was ever hurt by a few swearwords, some drinking and a bit of violence in an action-comedy. After that, it warms up mildly with some references to horror flicks. The last half of the movie just plain sucks. There is some mild humor, in the form of parody of action films, but not enough to bring even a faint smile.

Great action movie with hilarity to match. Some humor may be either confusing, inappropriatre, or both for most parents. Obviously it's for older people. Some violence, but enough of a storyline and good humor for it to even out.
