Is it possible to save kodlak
What matters is their heart. Kodlak will then turn back towards you and ask: "Of course. At the closing of the Quest Proving Honor , when you and Farkas have recovered the fragment of Wuuthrad from Dustman's Cairn and returned to Whiterun, Vilkas will tell you to stand before the Circle for judgement.
Once you have done so, Kodlak will start off:. Kodlak : "Brothers and Sisters of the Circle, today we welcome a new soul into our mortal fold. Let it beat with ours, so the mountains may echo and our enemies may tremble at the call. I trust you won't disappoint. Kodlak will then reply: "I see you've been allowed to know some secrets before your appointed time.
Yes, it's true. Not every Companion, no, only members of the Circle all share the blood of the beast. Some take to it more than others. My mind turns towards the horizon, to Sovngarde. I worry that Shor won't call an animal warrior as he would a true Nord warrior. Living as beasts draws our souls closer to the Daedric lord, Hircine. Some may prefer eternity in his hunting grounds, but I crave the fellowship of Sovngarde.
But you don't need to share the worries of an old warrior. This day is to rejoice in your bravery and speak to Eorlund for a better weapon than After becoming a werewolf yourself and completing the quest, The Silver Hand , if you tell him about Skjor 's death, he will be sad: "This is Thank you for telling me. This is a day where our souls must cry, and our hearts will answer. Grieve in whatever way you know. During the quest Blood's Honor , Kodlak will request to see you personally.
Upon arrival, he will tell you to take a seat. If you ask him what this is all about, he will remark: "I hear you've been busy of late. But his death was avenged long ago. You have taken more lives than honor demanded. The cycle of retaliation may continue for some time.
But this sneaking around. It doesn't befit warriors of your standing. Aela knows better, and so should you. Upon asking what the task is, he will ask you if you have heard the story of how the Companions came to be werewolves. Saying that Skjor said that it was a blessing from Hircine, he will say: "Aye, that sounds like him. As in all matters of faith, though, the reality is more complicated than one believer would tell you. It always is. Regardless, if you ask him what the truth is, he will continue to elaborate: "The Companions are nearly five thousand years old.
This matter of beastblood has only troubled us for a few hundred. One of my predecessors was a good, but short-sighted man. He made a bargain with the witches of Glenmoril Coven. If the Companions would hunt in the name of their lord, Hircine, we would be granted great power. The witches offered payment, like anyone else. But we had been deceived. But it's more than our bodies.
It's not so simple as just killing them, though. It seeps into the spirit. Upon death, werewolves are claimed by Hircine for his Hunting Grounds. For some, this is a paradise. They want nothing more than to chase prey with their master for eternity. And that is their choice. But I am still a true Nord.
And I wish for Sovngarde as my spirit home. And now I've found the answer. The witches' magic ensnared us, and only their magic can release us. They won't give it willingly, but we can extract their foul powers by force.
I want you to seek them out. Go to their coven in the wilderness. Strike them down as a true warrior of the wild. Change language. Install Steam. Store Page. Global Achievements. On returning to Jorrvaskr, the Silver Hand have attacked and Kodlak is dead. Everyone in the Companions is OK and no one else was killed, except Kodlak.
Athis is slightly wounded, but none of the other Companions is even scratched. Did Kodlak believe the Beast Blood somehow kept him alive or healthy or perhaps extended his life and that if cured he would become sick and die, so he allowed himself to be killed?
Was Kodlak like the "old Orc" and desirable of a "good death" rather than die of old age? Or, was he killed by a better warrior? Curious minds want to know. Showing 1 - 15 of 15 comments. In tales you pick up around the hall, Skjor and Kodlak were a terrifying duo of sorts. I figure then that perhaps due to age and without his most familiar shield brother at his back the silver hand simply overtook him.
They were probably all younger if not necessarily better warriors. Still as Aela tells you early on, numbers overwhelm. The other companions were there, sure, but Kodlak doesn't strike me as someone who would allow himself to be anywhere but the front. Also, can't wolf out in the middle of the city. The fight didn't take place in the underforge after all. Last edited by Stormsong the Fallen ; 10 Oct, am. I agree with stormsong, I think he died with honor by leading the defense like a true Nord would however without his shield brother and limited ability due to old age he was quickly overwhelmed and you know What to do after Kodlak dies?
Does talk to the companion leaders for work ever end? Can you get kicked out of the Companions? Does Skyrim ever end? Can you complete the Companions Questline without becoming a werewolf? Can Kodlak be saved? Is there any loot in Sovngarde? Can you betray the companions?
