Why is usopp so useless
Brook User Info: Skandrae. Like someone else just said that Nami is replaceable because there are lots of navigators, there are also lots of Captains. There are plenty of people with the drive and determination to gather a crew. The fact that Luffy gathered this random group of bums means very little. Luffy is important plot-wise, sure. But discounting the plot, if he died randomly one day and the crew had to continue on?
They could, without even getting a replacement. If Nami died? They'd be completely and totally sunk immediately without a new navigator.
If Franky died, they'd need a replacement pretty quick. They wouldn't make it to One Piece in that state, but they'd wouldn't flounder and die suddenly. Witty game-related comment. User Info: lelouch Bart literally went from Logue town to New World without a navigator or carpenter his power probably helped. I should also add that food shortages for the crew areally nearly always luffy''s fault. User Info: evy Prismsblade posted MajesticFerret You may have misread the op, this is rankings among the crew , based on "survival, without a top tier navigator like nami, or extremely dumb luck that would run our eventually, they wouldnt last long in the grand, let alone, red line.
And usapps marksmanship, and creative thinking in my opinion has served more value then sanji, whos kinda just there by then. Being the 3rd strongest is nice, but he aint strong enough to hang with anyone whos a threat to luffy, or zoro, and his chivalry not to hit girls in today and age is a insufferable, and annoying handicap.
Thank god there arent to many high tier female combatives in one piece. That's one of the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard. Seems like you are selective in what you choose to see and remember. Sanji has been more useful than Usopp in almost every arc. I recall two moments when Usopp's snipper skills were of real use or crucial: in Dressrosa and in Ernies Lobby. And in Ernies Lobby, it is Sanji who gave him the push he needed, just after he saved him from Jabura whom he defeated soon after.
He also saved Usopp a second time in the train, along with Franky. In that arc, Sanji was also clever enough to anticipate where Robin was headed and later opened the gate of justice thus saving the crew. So for those few seconds Usopp was more useful than usual, in the same arc Sanji was about 5 times more useful. Sanji has beaten much stronger opponents compared to Usopp in almost every arc.
He also saved crewmembers and others on more occasions than anyone else: -He saved Nami from the avalanche in Drum, breaking his spine. Law would not have made it in time if not for Sanji intervention. Besides shooting a flag and a little girl?
And please name concrete events, not conveniently abstract qualities like "creative thinking" and what not. The crew all used creative thinking at some point. Oh and Sanji is the only one who has a full-time job on the crew. Seriously, the others are free to do whatever they want most of the time, including relaxing and fooling around while Sanji spends most of his day cooking for the crew.
He might have gotten stronger over the time skip but it wasn't enough to fight head to head with top brass, so ihe runs away and relies on tricks to win his fights. If that doesn't sit well with you its understandable, but I wouldn't go as far as calling him completely useless and undeveloped. Out of the strawhats, as of late I'd have to agree. Definitely not in the whole show though. Yeah I'd rationalize Usopp as the "if you were in one piece character" - the one normal human without any extraordinary strength besides being able to live throughout all the fights so far.
He does have good reason to stay hidden and far away from trebol, but it's also pretty baffling that he doesn't even try to snipe that fake grape into sugar's mouth. Is he the most annoying character? Nah Do I wish he would have more independent strength? Yeah On that note, Nami and Chopper aren't that far from Usopp's position. I think his character is intended for some comic relief, though he say something notable ones in a while. Ahkrin said: I think his character is intended for some comic relief, though he say something notable ones in a while.
He could have served as a distraction for the tonttas or maybe he could have sniped the grape into sugar's mouth. He doesn't have to fight head on , but he at least has to do something. I would argue that Robin is worse. She has awesome Devil Fruit powers, has an immense experience of being a criminal and agent, yet she does absolutely nothing.
Heck, instead of stopping Sugar I don't mention Trebol, because he is logia , she could just break her neck, the same way as she always did before. I don't know why she didn't do it. He's tied for number 1 with Sanji in that regard. I see no problem with Usopp's character. So what if he is a coward. We already have a bunch of bad-ass characters in One Piece. He adds to the flavor of the crew. He can be damn well annoying sometimes but he's by no means the MOST annoying. I mean c'mon this is OP for god's sake, there are s of annoying characters.
Take Trebol for example. Or Buggy, or that annoying ass Mr. The list goes on. Hes actually my most respected character in one piece. He will develop in this arc, a badass way.. How can anyone still hate Usopp after his ton hammer trick against Perona? No, even if we just talk about the strawhats. Sanji and Nami are more annoying to me. Nami is the most annoying to me in the strawhat crew.
No, Sanji is. Usopp is awesome in comparison. Usopp is the man. Those who hate him just tend to be jealous. Not that he's not scared. And I'm not sure what the difference is between handling a fight and finishing it. They sound about the same to me.
No if you read my article to ASL you would understand what I meant by handling and just fight to end the fight flyingpirtes That may occur only for sugar,, but not all the villains that ussop gonna face is sugary For me i prefer luffy than ussop why?
If luffy is going to use his punches only to deal with the enemy so that is far better than depending on luck like ussop do.. After Usopp was separated from the crew by Kuma, he landed on a mostly deserted island and came across Heracles. Once he was shown that most of the terrain was edible, he began to gorge himself regardless of his new friend's warnings as to the region's many dangers.
His rampant gluttony was so horrendous that he almost died on dozens of instances to natural predators, only to be narrowly saved by Heracles after pleading for his life. Usopp put up the most resistance to his mentor out of any of the Straw Hat pirates. Before leaving Skypiea, Usopp was interested in procuring impact dials from many of the kingdom's denizens.
Since they had their own currency and didn't accept berries, he traded them for rubber bands, exaggerating their power using Luffy's victory over Eneru. In essence, he was riding off the coattails of his captain's success in order to scam the gullible and increase his own personal power.
However, the dials were able to minimize the damage that the Going Merry suffered when returning from the clouds. When Usopp first met the Straw Hat pirates, he attempted to coerce them into turning around. To accomplish this, he dramatically exaggerated the size of his crew, as well as his own personal strength making the absurd proclamation that eight thousand warriors served under his command.
This failed to deter anyone - worse yet, it made for a terrible impression, as he would soon be living among the people he just threatened. In the end, Luffy would have braved his village even if his claims were actually true. Usopp accidentally got himself shackled to Zoro during the events of the Enies Lobby arc.
