If emphasis is the reason for repetition, then we know that the Bible places great value on love. With all of its appearances, love takes on different meanings when mentioned. The word is used to describe various relationships, whether that is our relationship to God, others, ourselves, or even our relationship to earthly possessions.

Thus we can conclude, according to the Bible, love seems to operate in many directions. The Bible offers much thought to defining the complex term, describing love in so many different ways and so many times.

The reason love appears so frequently is because of its importance. In fact, the greatest aspects of the Christian faith is love. In Matthew 22 , Jesus was asked by a Pharisee what the greatest commandment was and Jesus gave an easy answer.

The first commandment was to love God. And the second was to love others as we love ourselves. No wonder the word appears so often. By sharing love with God and others we live out the life of a Christian, doing what Jesus commanded.

Many Christians cite sharing the gospel as their main calling. It is indeed important to have a long lasting love. When was the last time you experienced long-lasting happiness when you had a crush on someone? It never happens. When you have a crush, you stay upbeat and happy for the time being and then gradually it fades away. Things around you will change and you suddenly will enjoy every bit of your day, with that person or with the thought of that person.

We all know that relationship goes through ups and downs but not many are ready to cherish this and accept it as a part of life. However, not many understand like your relationship, even sex goes through various stages. It is passionate in the start and then post-parenthood it stretches and later in the years it happens seldom. For you being with your partner matters than anything else. No two individuals are the same.

Sadly, not many are able to understand this when they get in a relationship. However, the thing is different when someone is in everlasting love.

They understand this and accept the person even if they have certain differences. They are madly in love anyway. Sometimes it a sunny day and some days are full of dark clouds. It means that the time and place is not random. It means that we are a living testimony to the startling truth that each of us is created and birthed according to an eternal blueprint which God knew intimately — every detail — from the very beginning of eternity.

This provides insight into the truth that the cross was the physical outworking of the agreement between God and His Son from the very foundation of the world. Consider this final life-changing truth. God loved us from before time, because He knew us before time. But knowing us included our weaknesses, sins, failures, mistakes, and rebellion.

These did not alter His love for us. Even knowing all this, He still created us lovingly, and proceeded to draw us to Him with lovingkindness. He put in place the plan of redemption — the cross — before we had even been born so that we would have a way back. Their relationship is clouded with confusion and even guilt. To everyone, and especially those who have never really known the real love of God in a personal and intimate way, I give this encouragement. Today, take hold of this truth. Memorise this verse and ask Him to write it on your heart.

Meditate on it constantly. Remind yourself that before anything began, you were there in God — known by Him and loved by Him to the point that He was willing to die so that you would have the part of eternity that is still to come with Him. Make the choice, today, to live in the absolute truth that you are not a random conception without value or purpose. Who you are was part of God and still is. He knew your errors before you made them and before He made you, but that has not altered the truth that He loves you.

Take hold of eternity.
