Motorcycle why ride

2022.01.12 23:55

This means checking the handlebars, seating position and foot pegs are right for your measurements. Riding a motorcycle requires lots of muscles to work together but your core ties everything together. Every maneuver you make on a motorcycle involves the use of your core, especially low-speed maneuvers.

Riding a motorcycle requires you to constantly move around on the bike, gripping with your thighs and knees. These movements strengthen your thighs and in turn, strengthen your knees. The muscles in the thighs are used to keep the patella and other bones in the knee in place. Since the movements are low-impact, people who suffer knee or thigh pains describe riding a motorcycle as a kind of physical therapy.

Yes, you can burn a substantial number of calories while a riding a motorcycle — the gift that just keeps giving. Those who like to get dirty can burn up to calories per hour of intense motocross riding. Stick to the streets and you can burn between calories per hour, especially if you ride with some vigor.

Even passengers on sport bikes can burn up to 50 calories per hour. Your email address will not be published. Thank you so much, Now I have something to read during the holidays. This will take a while but well worth it like always You can read another one here themotorbiker. It never occurred to me that this riding a motorbike may help burn up calories. Thank you for this wonderful post. I hope a lot of your readers can learn a lot from this and start riding those bikes in the garage.

Thank you again! You mentioned that you need a high level of alertness in order to properly ride on a motorcycle which I am all about. That actually makes me worry less about riding one. I appreciate the health benefits of riding a motorcycle. It was really interesting when you explained that riding a motorcycle can be similar to doing meditation.

If you want to have peace of mind when riding a motorcycle, it seems like it would be important to have the proper insurance in place. Insurance can help you pay for repairs and medical bills after an accident. I never knows that riding is that much great. I know some of them, but there is something that you missed like, it improves the reaction time as well, as you ride for long time.

I have been riding since 16, It has tried to kill me a couple of times but at 58 I still love it. All of these statements ,I have made over and over again to people that ask why I like riding motorcycles. I have for 58 years and always will as long as the man upstairs give me. On June 5th, there was a funeral wake held for, Keith Lecker, a man suffering from a rare form of esophagus failure. Esophagogastric Junction Outflow Obstruction is a disorder characterized by increased pressure where….

As my wife once told me: "When you see someone on a motorcycle, it doesn't matter what kind, you think: 'Oh, that person is on an adventure! I wonder where they're going. Part of being cool as a motorcyclist comes when you stop worrying about "embarrassing" things like helmet hair or walking into restaurants wearing base layers; you don't get upset when it's hot or cold or raining or windy. Ride regularly and intelligently for long enough and you'll even be less enraged by other road users' negligence.

Because you know centering your anger on one person or thing only results in lost awareness. On the road, the constant monitoring of your situation—speed, angle, body posture, road condition, lane position, possible hazards, etc. I have never once thought about the Kardashians while riding. On a bike you find mindfulness and inner peace, some of which will stay with you off the bike.

If you live in one of the majority of places in the world that allow lane splitting, riding a motorcycle means you will get to work sooner and with less frustration. If you don't live in one of those places, you should be writing your representatives and throwing eggs at ABATE members in an effort to get things changed.

But there's still plenty of advantage to getting to work on two wheels. There's the nominal financial benefit: Bikes can be pretty fuel efficient. A good cc machine will give you upward of 85 mpg. And since doing basic maintenance e. It's not unheard of for motorcyclists to encounter lower costs at toll booths and parking lots, but even if your area isn't that progressive, finding a place to park is still generally easier. I used the word "nominal" in the above paragraph because often when someone evangelizes the financial benefits of motorcycling he or she conveniently overlooks the cost of gear.

Good gear is important for happy commuting and it doesn't come cheap. But I'm still willing to bet that the motorcyclist comes out slightly ahead at the end of the year. As a knock-on effect of fuel efficiency, motorcycles are a greener choice of transportation.

Maybe not so much if you're still thrashing around on a two-stroke, but any modern bike will have to meet increasingly strict environmental standards. If you're lane splitting on the way to work, you're also decreasing your environmental impact by not sitting at idle for long stretches.

If your engine is running for less time, it spends less time putting crap in the air. If you go electric, of course, you can ride around feeling even more smug assuming you are conscientious enough to ensure your energy supplier uses sustainable resources. One of the more terrifying Skynet-like things to happen last year was hackers remotely controlling a Jeep Cherokee. Last I checked, this sort of thing isn't yet—yet—possible with a motorcycle. Though, considering Ducati and most electric bikes offer the ability to make adjustments via smartphone, it probably won't be long.

If you're truly concerned about the machines taking over though, a motorcycle remains a good bet. Especially if you choose a Royal-Enfield or Ural. When motorcycle proponents are scraping the barrel they drag out the claim that motorcycles help you lose weight.

Ostensibly this is true: A pound man will burn 40 more calories in an hour riding a motorcycle than he will driving a car. If he sings the whole time he'll scorch an additional calories. But take a gander at those attending Sturgis or Daytona rallies and it's clear riding a bike isn't a miracle weight-loss technique.

It is, however, incredibly good for your brain. The aforementioned zen state mixes with the endorphins that come from spirited riding, or simply being outside does wonders for your mental health. For instance, you may show up somewhere while on your bike and you will be surprised when people get out of their way to have one or two words with you.

If you are a social person, then you will find yourself brushing shoulders and sharing stories with people you would otherwise never interacted with. Certainly, motorcycling opens up all closed doors and you can wake up to realize that you are interacting with people way beyond your socioeconomic, religious, or racial circles.

This is a completely different setup given that riding your motorcycle plunges you in the realm of self-sufficiency as well as independence that you may enjoy by simply getting onto your bike and turning the throttle in readiness to move. This way will you feel drained and exploited just to please others rather than yourself. When it comes to motorcycling, the situation is different.

On a motorbike, it is only you and you alone and no other person to please. In essence, you are controlling your destiny and you can always feel as part and parcel of your actions and decisions.

The freedom within you makes your mental state push away anxiety about paying bills, meeting deadlines or struggling to make someone happier. Freedom of enjoying your motorcycling ventures should not be mistaken for selfishness whatsoever.

This particular freedom is actually the realization of your fullness while doing what you enjoy the most. That explains why you feel complete as a human being when on your motorcycle and not a less significant part of someone or something else.

Most importantly, the freedom derived from riding motorcycles can have a positive impact on your interaction with your family, friends, kids, workmates and anyone else. The kind of freedom you enjoy while on your ride makes you appreciate the little things around you or in your life. This particular freedom lets you know that you are part of those things that make your life simple, interesting, enjoyable and fulfilling. Some of these things include the people in your inner circle and the items that you hold dear in your life.

Beyond all that, you will also find a greater connection to everything else around you. The connection can be extremely difficult to articulate yet meaningful in a way that keeps you going. This is where motorcycling comes in to spice up every part of your life while establishing that connection to your surroundings.

Riding your motorcycle exposes you to different situations and places. You can find yourself riding in the forest or going downhill and finally finding yourself in the middle of your city, heading home. All these are just but a few of the things that make you stay connected with reality and the world around you in general. Motorcycling enables you to have the first-hand experience of them with your full senses more positively.

The thrill that comes with motorcycling amounts to some sort of excitement especially to those who find this activity to be fun. On the flip side of the story, motorcycling can be risky and dangerous but the excitement that comes with it is unmatched, to say the least.

Just imagine the adrenaline aspect of it, the speed, maneuverability and efficient that makes motorcycling a favorite hobby for people of all ages and forgets about the negative stories associated with it. You will realize the excitement that motorcycling brings when you find yourself doing what you thought was impossible.

For example, you may push your motorcycle above its speed limit, overtake other motorbikes on the road, or swoop through different sections of corners in order to have that experience of happiness and achievement thrillingly. Keep in mind that you need to stay safe all the time to make your motorcycling great fun.
