While my 3 year old has fun trying to hop on it, it is obvious that the toy is sized for older children. It is still a lot of fun and she will grow into it. My granddaughter is 3 yrs. She didn't find the ball very interesting - she tried to stay up on it - but ended falling over!

She also couldn't hold onto the handle and bounce correctly. I inflated it to 18 inches as directed and I believe she is too young to grasp the necessary concepts for playing on the fantasy ball.
