I have the service manual already but need to know about how to connect a Bose speaker response filter adapter to it.

Besides, the Bose adapter manual -- which I own -- is really quite poor, given the different nomenclature used in that manual compared to the inputs and outputs either on the C2 or on integrated amplifiers.

Re: Kenwood Basic C2 preamp owners manual Post by JaS » 28 Aug OK, but if you only need it to connect the adaptor then virtually any preamp manual will do, it's a very simple amp with the usual array of inputs line or phono , tape loops 2 if I remember tightly and the output sockets for the power amp I can guarantee that the original won't say anything about connecting your speaker response filter adapter, whatever that is?

I'm presuming it's some sort of equalizer that hangs off a tape loop, but it's not something I'm familiar with. Generally one connects the equalizer to one of the tape loops. Hamlet Act 1. Take a look at the specifications for this Kenwood Basic C1 Preamp, they are rare for that time and today they rate very high with modern equipment that is out there. It may be a gem that people do not know about because like all 'gems' they are under rated or were put aside because of subjective opinions or another higher end component may have stolen its limelight!

I have even seen pre amplifiers costing several thousand dollars that don't even come close to the Basic C-1 specs. I have owned mine since around and it has performed flawlessly, while the C-2 that I purchased around the same time went out only a few years after purchase. Simplicity is where it's at! I've had the C1 pre-amp since paired with an M2 amp and they've both performed flawlessly ever since with no issues.
