Druid trial of the sea lion

You are looking for a pair of rocks that, from the surface, look roughly like a crab's claw [49, 11]. They extend down into the water in a 'V' shape.
Directly between them is a Strange Lockbox that contains the pendant half. Also in the area are level 17 Threshers. You may or may not be able to wander between them without aggroing them. Almost directly in the middle of it is a Strange Lockbox that contains the pendant half.
There is a bubbly fissure nearby. When looking at the map of Westfall, it's almost half of the way down from the top left corner. Swim west-southwest. You may encounter a level elite shark, but other than this the ocean is clear. Look for a large anchor embedded in the sand, and some strangekelp. When swimming in the direction of the anchor, you'll see that the land is dropping off into the deep ocean. Near the anchor, also note that the ground begins to slope down.
Swim straight down the slope near the anchor, and you will see a pirate ship ahead of you and a small leveled sand area where there's the chest and a bubbly fischer. Teleport to Moonglade, and run to the shrine of Remulous just outside of Nighthaven.
To combine, open your inventory and right click one of the two halves. Then speak with the NPC. Comment by Thottbot the coordinates for the strange lock boxes are as follows: Darkshore: 48,11 watch for threshers lvl Westfall: 19,32 is the location for the anchor 17,32 is the location of the bubbly fissure and the strange lock box there are lvl 22ish elite sand sharks in the area, i did not see any near this location when i got my half pendant note: there is a wreackage over the cliff west of the strange lockbox, DO NOT attempt to check it out as it is in "dark waters", this will fitauge you.
Box is in middle of pond by some bubbles. You can't see them until you get deeper, but there's air bubbles you can breath right by the chest. Comment by Thottbot lol, I just finished doing the alliance version on my Horde druid.
Took me flippin' forever! Wish I'd have read about the Horde having different locations ; But you can still go to the alliance locations to finish your quest if you happen to be in the area or something Comment by Thottbot Guys Dont listen to any of the information up top about Darkshore and Westfall. When youre in Moonglade, find the flight masters and they basically tell you exactly where the pendants are.
Sludge Fen is easy. Its in the North East corner of the Barrens. All you have to do is pull a couple guys and you're good, just go right into the water. You'll find the chest right about in the middle of the water. The second one takes a little longer unfortunately, especially for Horde. North of the Sepulcher is a beach with a large wreck on it Yes, there are some beasts there but there arent that many, you can just go right on through. Go straight down to the bottom and look around until you see a fissure where you'll be able to breathe.
Right next to that is the chest. For all of you with titan panel, its located at exactly The Coords are: 44, If you don't use Atlas then you'll find the Druid southeast of Remulus on a plattform with birds. It's a bit hard to find when you don't know which way you have to choose. When you have the one part of the pendant you have to go to the Waste Land. The best way is to start from Crossroads to the "Schlickermoor" eng: Claymoor?
The "Schlickermoor" is north from Crossroads. The Coords are: 56,8 in the water. Be really carefull. There is a beast in the water which protect a chest. The best way to kill this beast with 16 level is to kill it from the barrel in the water so you can choose your magic. There are also many People of the Venture Company around.
So you have to kill some of them. And then go back to Thunder Bluff. That's it. Not very easy. But when you finished this quest you'll feel better : Sorry for my bad english.
Comment by Thottbot Ok guys its as simple as this Go to Sludge fen in the Barrens and dive into the sludge and you will see a strange lock box open that and voila! Go to UnderCity then run to Silverpine forest along the mountain range to 29,29 which is out in the middle of the sea Comment by Thottbot Darkshore: Comment by Allakhazam 30,29 for the one by the ship.
There is no need to be higher than level 16, there are no mobs around and there is a air bubble fissure right where the box is. Go to that location, dive straight down and you are fine. Comment by Allakhazam 29,29 down in the sea silverpine forest 56,8 Sludgen Fen in the water barrens easy to do, alway walking. Comment by Allakhazam The wind rider master wouldn't speak to me - I just got the "You have discovered a new flight path" and then "You don't know any flight paths connected to this one" message.
Edited, Sun Mar 13 Comment by Allakhazam You should get the one in silverpine forest first. Those coords are: 29,29 Just swim down and there will be fresh air at the box.
The second one is in the Barrens at the Sludge Fen. Just dive in the pool and you can easily find the chest. I believe there is also swimming an elite goo thingie. Coords are: 56,8 or somewhere close.
I got this one first but I died because of lag so I lost the debuff. But the swim in silverpine forest is long and deep. Comment by Allakhazam alright easy said hard to do Comment by Allakhazam try to read the quest.. Comment by Allakhazam Ok doing this for the Horde can be a real pain in the neck but that's what I'm here for. First off you dont have to talk to anyone to do this!
So don't bother serching all over moonglade to find someone. Easy to see its a nasty green bog being messed up by the Venture Co mining Company. If you dive in to the nasty green water you find a chest in about the middle behind a wooden barricade just swim around and open it. The Half Pendant of Aquatic Endurance: This one's a bit harder if you still in the barrens head east to ogrimar.
Get the Zepplin in Orgimar and head to Under City. Once you get to Undercity follow the road south until your in silver pine remember this cause its how you're gonna get a nice blue ring in the Shadow Fang Keep Instance Continue on the road until you see the road that turns west. Take the road to the west to a village called Spulcher just before you go up the hill to spulcher head north toward the greatsea you should see a shipwreck on the coast swim striaght west of the wreck and then keep swiming untill you get almost to where you fatigue bar appers if the bar appers you've gone to far look aroung there should be a small chest near some sea bubbles you can breath there is you pendant.
Comment by Allakhazam I read how difficult this quest is by so many posters. It may be that the difference of race makes it so. I swam to the deepest part and found the box near the bubbling fissure. Run to the 2 druid flight masters, they tell u where to go. First fly to thunderbluff, then to the Barrens. Take out a few to make a direct path to lake. In the center, you should see the small lockbox and voila, first pendant.
To Silverpine: Catch the Zepplin to go to Silverpine by undercity. When you get off the zepp, run south west along that road. Follow that straight out to the ocean. Pass all the werewolves u may have to get dirty and fight some tho'. You'll end up at the Docked and busted up ship. Swim straight out from the ship west. You'll know you're going the right way if you see your dot on the map close to the T in Great.
Once youre at the T you should be at or near the Fatigue area. If you hit fatigue swim back a little out of the deep water so you lose the fatigue bar. Once you get out of deep water, swim straight down and you'll see the bubbling fissure. The lockbox is right there. After getting the pendant, teleport to moonglade. Comment by Allakhazam I went out tonight thinking I'd get my water form and then go to bed feeling all good about myself for having done it.
LMAO 3 hours later, exhausted and frustrated My dead body was all over the ocean in Darkshore tonight. I died a grand total of 4 times, 3 of which occured at the wrong damn place! I'm not saying that the posts here are misleading or anything. I'm not even going to say the directions found in this thread weren't good. So please don't jump all over me for thinking I'm in any way saying that the time spent typing all of these guides out weren't helpful.
It is hard to describe where things are in the game without using photos. I'm not sure anything I'm about to say will be anymore helpful to the next druid coming here looking for help. I just wanted to clarify a few points here in the event that anyone else is looking at things the way I did. I would like to help anyone avoid the death and carnage I endured here tonight. I started this part of the quest with a lvl 16 Night Elf Druid. I had just hit lvl 16 actually, went to train and found the start of this quest in Darnassus.
So maybe bring another druid with you that also needs to complete it will be much easier. Maybe I'm a whimp or don't know how to play a druid correctly or whatever, but I was killed by these things 4 times and was very frustrated.
Leave your gear at the bank, in your bags, or wherever, just don't wear because it cost me 6 silver and 20 copper per time to fix my stuff. Take your staff or dagger or whatever you're using as a weapon and that's it. Swim in your underwear, trust me. I'm talking point the arrow that represents where you are straight at the N on the little map in the top right corner of your screen You'll see a claw like formation from the beach. It's 3 rocks - 2 in the back and one in the front - lvl 16 thrashers swimming under it I died 3 out of 4 times swimming around these rocks thinking it was the rock formation everyone was talking about Swim past that one and behind it, much further out into the ocean is the correct one.
This rock formation is a little larger than the first one I had mistaken it for. There are 2 rocks that kind of come together in the center and you'll know it's the correct one when you see the lvl 18 elder thrashers swimming under it. There were a few lvl 16 ones, but most of the ones I had to tangle with were lvl I managed to swim toward the center. I killed 1 lvl 16 thrasher that jumped me while I was swimming to the correct formation.
Once I arrived a lvl 18 thrasher welcomed me there, which I was able to barely survive through. Then I saw the box, saw another lvl 18 thrasher near the box.
I knew full well it was going to jump on me if I tried to get the box so I opted to wait for mana and health to replenish before taking him on. I pulled him and I almost killed him, but didn't make it. That was death number 4 and the point where I said The second half was outlined by Rixie well - only difference is right after I got it I heath'ed to XS.
Comment by Allakhazam I worked my tail off last night getting this. Died once in water didn't pay attention to fatigue Finally got to the fissure again, a buddy cast res on me when i died coming back on my first unsuccessful attemp -- 10 feet from the fissure :P On my third try, I got it, tp'ed to Moonglade just as it all ran out.
Woo Hoo. A buddy asked "why not use a potion of underwater breathing and a swim speed potion". Comment by Allakhazam Heres the maps where they are Westfall and Auberdine. Comment by Allakhazam The first part in this quest is to talk to the locals in moonglade, well i have been running around for about 20 mins and no1 is especially social Comment by Allakhazam This post was a huge help. Thanks so much, especially for the marked maps. Comment by Allakhazam Sercease, Eater of Souls these coordinates where right on.
Comment by Allakhazam I just did this quest, and what people have said about the Westfall half seems to have changed. I found the lockbox with the pendant half right next to the bubble vent others have mentioned - not in the ship off in the distance. Moonlight has a path from Darnassus to Moonglade and then from Moonglade to Stormwind. The cheap route is to use the Lunar Invitation from Darnassus to Moonglade, but then you'll have to wait 10min for the cooldown.
Quicker way is to pay 7s for the flight path from Auberdine to Moonglade and then use the Invitation. I am the blue dot. Underwater as you dive past that island you will see another anchor, oriented the same way as said by Teriasis quoting his orientation here Aim yourself in the direction the shaft section is laying not the hook part, shaft being where the chain would attach if it where still part of a ship.
Comment by Allakhazam hey um im a NE druid. Comment by Allakhazam The correct location for the Westfall section is 17, Comment by Allakhazam i know this is pathetic, but how do you get to west fall as part of the alliance? Got the Auberdine part NP, but can't get to west fall! Comment by Allakhazam I DID run into a reef shark elite level 22 right after grabbing the westfall one, but I had already drank water breathing potion and took a quick speed swim potion my lvl 17 druid was not up to the battle alone and swam my happy bum away.
Comment by Allakhazam Darkshore - 48,11 on the ocean floor in between to rocks Westfall - 17,33 Right next to a Bubbly Fissure. Comment by Allakhazam my druid only lvl 16 and since the threshers are lvl is there another way of not killing the threshers? Comment by Allakhazam I don't understand Comment by Allakhazam ok, so first hint is to talk to hyppogriff masters in moonglade, both of them. One tells you to go to westfall, one tells you to go to darnassus. In darnassus, i swam up the coast from auberdine, though i meant to jump off the boat before getting to the docks but got distracted.
If you look at the world map and mouse over til it says "Teldrassil" on the top, it is the island group immediately below the first "l". It is in a chest nestled between the northern two points, surrounded by threshers.
I was able to kill the closest 2 hoverers and didn't have to combat any others. In westfall, i flew from menethil harbor. If you look at the world map, you'll notice a little island in the river where it T's between Elwynn forest and Duskwood.
The chest is due west of this island, way out at the edge of the ocean. It is directly north and slightly to the right of the "T" in "Great" of "The Great Sea", where this imaginary line would intersect with the island aforementioned. There is a fissure right by the chest, so don't worry about losing your breath. Then I transported to moonglade, don't even bother reaching the surface. Then you have to go to the shrine where you right click on one of the pendant halves.
Then I'm so lazy that I transported to moonglade again, from which you are sent to darnassus. Edited, Jun 20th pm by tbarcequine. Comment by Allakhazam If you have a character above 35th lvl: 1. Buy a water-breathing potion Go explore where the other posts have led you to. Find the chest. Log on to your druid and go to the same spot. I died so many times getting the chest near the drop off with my druid.
It is helpful to find the chest first then go and get it with your druid. Comment by Allakhazam Ok this quest is easy once you know it, but a pain to learn it on your own, most info is off somewhere here and there so I will explain it a little better.
Step 1 in Auberdine: follow the road up north till you get to the bridge that crosses the Cliffspring River. Turn and face the beach and run towards the ocean. Crabs are in the area are yellow non agro. Jump in the water and keep going north. There is a smaller formation that almost looks like it but that aint it so go past that.
The one you are looking for looks just like a claw :D In between the pincers is a chest underwater with the first pendant half. Step 2 in Westfall: Ok now this is where most of the info misleads or just doesn't quite explain this very well. Once you are there head east towards the beach.
There will be Murlocs swarming all over. There will also be alot of sunken ships you can see those are NOT what you are looking for. Find the anchor on the beach that is half burried in the sand and surrounded by murlocs.
Aim yourself in the direction the shaft section is laying not the hook part, shaft being where the chain would attach if it where still part of a ship follow the way past a tiny tall island NE. Once you pass the island on the lefthand side, dive underwater.
Here is where you should see the bubble fissure after swimming down a few seconds. Just beyond that is the sunken ship which you see as you get closer, you cannot see the ship from the surface. Get to the fissure and fill up with air. Face the ship and open your tabs to your moonglade portal. When ready swim forward over the ship keeping the mast on your righthand side. Now turn around look down the chest is on the floor between the ship and some rocks. Or you WILL die from exhaustion or lack of breathe.
Viola complete, now you can become the Sea Lion and do underwater quests with ease. Comment by Allakhazam Ketsugi and others nailed it For the 2nd part, coming from the Bubbly Fissure to the boat, it looks like you can go under the boat this will eventualy lead you to go around the front. Do yourself a favor and go right through the masts on the ship and dive down. You do NOT have to die during this part. Good luck! Find coordinates 19,32 Longshore. This is the anchor.
Swim west off the edge of the abyss. Swim straight down to 17, Comment by Allakhazam See, I found the box right next to the fissure and never had to screw with the boat in westfall.
Didn't get near it Comment by Allakhazam 17,33 I found the Pendant. Comment by Allakhazam One chest is in Auberdine, off the north coast at 48, It's on the ground on the north side of a set of rocks that look like horns sticking out of the water.
Watch out for the level 18 Threshadons hanging out in the area. The other one is in Westfall off the northwestern coast, at 17, No bad guys around this one, but it's a loooong way out and a loooong way down. As others have mentioned, just keep an eye out for the Bubbly Fissure and the chest is right next to it. Edited, Fri Dec 23 Comment by Allakhazam The Moonglade locals to talk to are the two flight masters at the Druid flight point.
Comment by Allakhazam Please can someone tell me how you get to Westfall from Auberdine? Surely there must be a way other than trekking for miles? Comment by Allakhazam Stop life stories, and give some coords, that's what we need Comment by Allakhazam I'm a Tauren, and I think what I had to do was a bit different from the previous posters experiences.
The first piece I got was in the Barrens. The location was in the upper right north east section of the map. I had to get through a bunch of Venture Co. I just dove under water and searched around til I found the lock-box. Then I opened it and got the heck out of there.
The next one was all the way across the word on the other continent. I took the airship from Orgrimmar to the Undercity. Then I just headed south-west to Silverpine Forest. Along the coast you'll see a ship-wreck in the water. Go out in the water way west. I had to just dive and search around quickly then go back up for it. I ended up way out in teh water where it's really deep I ran into the sections that give you a 'fatigue' bar that ticks down.
There is a bubble clam out there though, so I focused first on finding the clam, then from the clam I found the lockbox just about straight west of that a ways. I basically ran out of air before I managed to get the piece and back to the bubble clam. You might be able to make it by heading straight up, but I dunno So, I hoped that helped some poeple. The druids in the Moonglen who told me my info were the 2 people by the "airport.
I'm done! Comment by Allakhazam I am a 16 night elf and i found one half, but am having trouble find the half in westfall. I read the forum and it told me that it was east of the gold something Coast.
Did that mean west instead of east? If you fo east that will take you to the swamp of sorrows, and if it is west of the gold place, where aboutis it located? Comment by Allakhazam I have finished the 1st part of the quest the treasure chest off stone claw rock.
I am having a problem with the second part the treasure chest in the waters of westfall. I keep getting dead! Comment by Allakhazam This was a frustrating quest for me, heh.
What helped me was the maps here:. Comment by Allakhazam brillaint with these walktrougs. Comment by Allakhazam i dont know if this is a bug but it wont let me combine the pendants together You've talked to them before. Talk to both the Night Elf and the Tauren for the information.
Then, go ahead and follow the coordinates posted here. Comment by Allakhazam bump of cords to save scrolling Darkshore - 48,11 on the ocean floor in between to rocks Westfall - 17,33 Right next to a Bubbly Fissure. Comment by Allakhazam For the westfall one you don't need elixer I probably could have made it to the Lockbox and back without even taking damage.
Also if you want to save time, one you combine the 2 peices at the shrine, just use your moonglade teleporter again to get back to the city area for your hand in. Edited, Feb 15th pm by smarch. Comment by Allakhazam i dont know how i come in westfall can someone help me with this quest p. Comment by Allakhazam i'm not sure when they changed it, but i played a druid in the open beta and restarted one when wow came out.
Comment by Allakhazam all allys cords no hored cords : what zone and cords on my hored side please. Comment by Allakhazam u can get 5 from the gyromasts revenge quest. It is close to where the first half is located on the beach north of cliffsprings river mouth. Comment by Allakhazam Hello Do I have to talk to those guys in moonglade to give me that hints, or I can just follow your navigations and find the items myself?
Comment by Allakhazam Ketsugi that was a perfect post. I couldn't see the picture but I followed your directions exactly and teleported to Moonglade with 5 or 10 in fatigue and breath. I killed the baddie in the middle and dove right down on the first part of the quest. Where does it tell me what they are? Comment by Allakhazam I brought both halves into the Shire of Remulos and no matter what I tried I was unable to combine them.
I keep getting the message "Requires Shire of Remulos". I made sure I was IN the shire. Even left and reentered a few times. Stood right in front of the Keeper and nothing.
I was playing, trying to find the Auberdine half, and repeating 'I hate this quest' in my guild chat. Comment by Allakhazam The directions to the anchor can be very misleading.
Better directions is due west from Saldean farm. Edited, Apr 6th am by avmavm. Comment by Allakhazam Soloed at lvl 16 without water breathing. Comment by Allakhazam Go to 18,33 for the box in westfall. Comment by Allakhazam Hey i found the directions to be incredable helpful. Comment by Allakhazam I'm afraid I still don't understand how to use coordiantes in teh game.
However, the map Ugh linked too was a HUGE help and enabled me to find the 2nd half of the pendant no problem! Comment by Allakhazam I've confirmed the Darkshore coords. There is a rock at 48,12 and another one right next to it at 48, The chest is underwater right between them. For Westfall, there's a ledge on the cliff at 17, The chest is right there, with the bubble fissure right next to it.
If you don't have coords, I highly suggest Titan Addon. Comment by Allakhazam Who do you talk to to get the quest to begin with have looked all over no one gives it any help will be grat thank you. Comment by Allakhazam I found the first part fairly easily - I ignored all descriptions referrng to claw-like rock formations north of Cliffspring River and swam north to the listed co-ordinates 47, Incidently, it is a spire of rock with an angled rock formation off to one side NE.
The box was straight down on the western side of the two rock formations. The second part was easier; went to 17, 33 and dove deep. Found the fissure at 17, 32 and there was the box. Piece of Piss. Edited, Mon Mar 7 Its at a V or maybe more like a check mark as one rock is a bit higher than the other , look down see level 18 or so shark, and then search the bottom of the sea and its there.
Thanks to Smellyb for the go north from Cliffside River and if you start to get fatigue you went a bit in the wrong direction, turn around and go back. She's the only NPC I see there, too. Oh, well. I've found both supposed NPC's that I'm supposed to talk to, and neither will talk to me.
Is there something I have to do to start this? Comment by Allakhazam This quest really took me a lot of time since directions were not very clear at all, especially for the second part in Westfall. By the way here it's how it goes: 1 First part is due north west of Clisspring River. It' shaped like a a "V" and the chest stand just in the middle of the junction. If you look at the map it's just north of those gropu of three little islands at 47,14 but this coordinates are not that accurate Anyway for those of you who still keep wondering how to go there i'll try to make it clear: A From Auberdine go to the pier and turn left following Menethil indications.
This will take you to Menethil harbour. Be sure to talk with the Gryph master in order to open a flight route. B Exit the little village and always follow the path eastwards. Stick to the main road and watch out for crocodiles and spiders on the road. They're usually level 20 or higher. Following this road you will reach a series of tunnels orcs are nearby. You have to reach Loch Modan. Kepp going ahead and at the fork you have to head southwards and keep walking. At the gryphon station open the flight route.
Go ahead and u will see a passage marked by two big dwarven statues. YOu have to turn right here and follow for Dun Morogh. Follow the road going west. Here it's really much easier. You will pass through a round portal which will teleport u into the tram station. Board the wagon and you'll end up in Stormwind open the flight route again. D Exit the gates of Stormwind and follow the road. It will lead you eventually into Westfall! Yes, you made it!
Here all you have to do is go southwest towards the cost where Gold Coast Qyarry area is. Dive into the sea and swim at coordinates 19,32 look down and u'll se an anchor. Now u have to turn and face the abyss. Swim into the depth of the sea until 17,32 and you'll find a bubbling fissure. Just beside it you have the chest with the pendant! Comment by Allakhazam I have both parts of the necklace, and am standing in the Shrine, and cannot get the two parts to combine. Seems someone else had this issue Comment by Allakhazam I put this quest off for a whiles, because at the time I wanted to level grind rather then travel across the world 8 or 9 times to get a form I didnt need at the time I'm now 30 and got the quest, talked to the people in Moonglade and got the hints on the location of the pieces.
Used the coordinates and found the chest right where ya'll said it was. My problem is I cant open the chest. It just sits there mocking me World of Warcraft.
