Mike says that he would always make sure that everything that needed to be repaired got fixed. Sometimes, it would have to be any mechanic that could fit them in. Many contestants say they were instantly spotted in the street while others had people come up to them or their car as they wanted to know all the secrets and see the final piece for themselves.

Sadly, there was someone else that soon became pretty interested in the vehicles: the cops. Some of the contestants say they were pulled over almost every day by local police officers as they worried about the cars. They then had to explain how it was all done by professionals. Thankfully, most people say the police soon became interested in the vehicles and their modifications.
