Windows repair setup is being restarted

I've recently ran into a small, but very annoying problem, which I thought could be easily fixed with a Windows XP Repair, since it required some Windows XP drivers to be restored.

The installation proceeds to copy its files, and reboots the computer. After the Windows XP logo ends, the repairing process, which's UI is identical to the Windows XP installation, lead me to think that it is going to reinstall Windows, which I later found out it doesn't, but features the same UI.

I panicked when the installation started, in fear of losing my data, I pressed the reset button on my PC, and then I wanted to boot into Windows, but it would show a screen - "Setup is being restarted", so I just waited, hoping for the best, but then the same screen showed up again. Xp service pack 2, on hp computer, ac with athalon chip. This all started when I updated to service pack 3, I started getting blue screens. No, they had me do a repair install, the one through windows setup. When it gets to "installing devices" during the repair, it stops at 36 min remaining. I looked at my setupapi.

Why don't you try this website? This can be quite a headache I know, I have been there. AVG seems to be working except for Identity Protection.

However, I would prefer to have AVG running as it is intended to as the problem could recur next time a new version of AVG is released. Avinash Avast Hello Daniel.
