Turning off the ones that you're not using in my case I turned them all off will minimize the chance of ApplicationFrameHost and it's invisible icon from showing. All that to say that while Stardock should address this issue, it can be a bigger problem than that. MS needs to put out a fix that kills this process when there are no metro apps running.

Next, install version 2. Register with your key. Bang, all issues are gone, including the invisible icon, laggy and choppy menus I have 2 menus top and bottom of screen and they are packed with icons, so far they have been running flawless for hours.

There is certainly no guarantee that an older version is any better [or worse] for an OS for which it was not designed specifically and thus any such permission will not be forthcoming That being said, a product that works is better than one that does not.
