The compiledate is The last disc i can offer, is the bundled disc from the Orchid Righteous 3D 3Dfx Voodoo1 accelerator. The 3Dfx version does not have the analog hud. The disc includes Actua Soccer: Semifinals 3D too, but i've never tested it.

The compiledate is Post by mrpijey » Thu Jan 09, pm All of them would be of interest as they are all full games, and even more so since some are special editions with enhanced graphics etc. Post by anakin94 » Sun Jan 12, pm Finished, hope all is ok. Post by anakin94 » Mon Jan 13, pm mrpijey, have some questions. I've uploaded yesterday the disc's. Why was my upload renamed to "MechWarrior 2 1.

I uploaded it as "MechWarrior 2 1. And the old 1. My disc 1. You can also see at the print of my disc, it has the 1. And why is the Mechwarrior 2 the only release with a " Matrox Mystique Edition " tag? I had uploaded the Destruction Derby 2 disc's, also with this and they where renamed without this tag. All Matrox disc's that i uploaded where bundled with the Matrox Mystique. I can't see the other disc's on the Ftp, where they not ok?

Post by mrpijey » Mon Jan 13, pm 1: I did a quick check and both discs looked identical, so I renamed it as such. An addition to the damage engine is that tyres can now be lost when a car's rear is heavily damaged.

Another addition is that the car's bonnet can also fly off, leading to the commentator to say "You've lost your hood!

The methods of achieving points are still the same, but their resulting number of points have been greatly increased. There are seven all new tracks, of which the last three are gradually unlocked by progressing in Championship. Four new bowls were made, replacing the single one in the original DD game.

Three different cars are available to the player. They have retained their old names but given completely new looks. They also no longer have a branded identity as in Destruction Derby. The cars resemble Ford Thunderbird Nascars. The cars shown in the intro and the cover art though with and without decals are Pontiac Grand Prix Nascars.

Four new competitors were added replacing four others from Destruction Derby. They also now received age, length and nationality attributes to their profiles. They still have their own car designs but this time it's more simpler, with only their car number on it and no other art. Compared to the first game, the gap between the strongest and weakest opponents have widened, with their performances much more predictable now.

Some returning drivers like The General are much improved now, whereas others like Barmy Army are now worse off. There are no voice clips in Destruction Derby 2. In the game's manual on the pages which list the drivers, there is a large text with an orange background reading Tracksmashing , a reference to the British comedy film Trainspotting.

Destruction Derby 2 now has four divisions with five drivers each. This time they are also more accurately sorted by ability. The soundtrack for the game was performed by the unsigned English thrash metal bands Jug and Tuscan. In addition, Mike Clarke composed the music playing during the credits video clip. The PlayStation version received positive reviews. Edge praised the improved damage system resulting from the new physical modelling routines, saying the crashes are much more intense than the original.

The 3D engine was described as "impressive", but the lack of a link-up multiplayer mode was criticised. Destruction Derby created as many new problems as solutions, and the developers of Destruction Derby 2 have done an extremely nice job of correcting these faults with a much improved sequel. Despite these compliments, he criticised the game's limited re-playability. Despite this, they praised the car physics and graphics. His main criticism was that he thought the Destruction Derby Practice mode can make players complacent.

The PC version did not fare as well. Rick Broida of Computer Gaming World criticised the lack of multiplayer, the high system requirements, and the difficulty. Despite these criticisms, he complimented the improved graphics and tracks over the original. For the graphics, he described the PlayStation version as "far more beautiful" than the PC version and criticised the SVGA graphics mode for its high system requirements.

He also criticised the cars for being "impossible" to overtake. He described Destruction Derby 2 as "an average game that could have been an excellent title". It also said that as a stock car simulation, DD2 works well, but as an action game it is far too difficult.

Wreckin' Racing is a hybrid of the two albeit with less points for positions than Stock Car. The maximum number of points available per race in the wrecking modes is 99, whereas Stock Car has a maximum of 50 the points for first place. The game features a single bowl where derby events take place:.

Buckle up, and sit tight! In a Championship , each track has a variant version of the course, as well as a different day or night condition or a reversed variant, depending on which Division the player is in. It is worth noting that in some Championship races the finishing line has been adjusted from its visual indication; for example, on a reverse race of the normal Speedway track the finishing line is under the electronic position board. All three cars' looks are the same apart from their paintjobs and some differences in attributions.

They are each named after difficulties: the Rookie is a beginner's car which is stable but somewhat slow; the Amateur has much better speed and handling; and the Pro is for experienced players and can be considered the 'best' car when adapting well to its powersliding capabilities.

They are each also assigned a different identity and paint job, which for player 1 would be Psygnosis , Grim Reaper and Smoothie respectively. Notably many people were never aware of its existance because they only appear in the multiplayer modes which only functions with a Link Cable.

It's possible to view one of these using an emulator and a code that replaces the Trashman 's car, depending on the value you place on the end of the code. The below list of competitors is sorted in order of its starting division in Championship mode with their roof colour in brackets , along with their car number shown. Division 5 White. Division 4 Yellow. Division 3 Cyan.

Division 2 Red. Division 1 Black. Division 4 White. Division 3 Yellow. In each Championship, the drivers start out in a system of 5 4 in MS-DOS version divisions, with the goal for the player being to climb to and win Division 1.

The drivers that are in each division remain constant for every new game, but are not ordered by ability clear by the fact that Learner Driver is in Division 2, despite being one of the weakest competitors. Each driver is of differing ability, and each one has a slightly different driving style, which initially creates variation for the player but can easily be predicted after playing the game for a while.

The fastest raw stock car driver in the game is clearly The Skum in every race, whereas there are several competitors who are better in the Destruction Derby event. Competitors such as Psycho , Undertaker and The Taxman are amongst the best drivers in all modes, whereas drivers such as Suicide Squad are good in wrecking modes, but very slow in stock car modes. Learner Driver is known to be by far the slowest driver.

The AI has also been well adapted to the different modes. For instance in a Stock Car Racing event, the competitors drive a good deal faster than they would do in Wreckin' Racing. The results screen in a Championship, showing each competitor and their positions in this example only Points because it's a derby event. Each driver has their own car design and a cartoon picture of the character displayed on the race and championship standings screens. The division of each driver can be seen during races by the colour of the roof of their car, as shown above.

Most of the drivers also have a voice clip that plays when points are taken from them by the player in wrecking modes. Below is a list of quotes heard in this situation. It may not be entirely accurate since they're not all easily audible :.

This kind of music was highly popular in the UK at the time in the s. He believed that its "graphics are almost all you could want for a game" of this type, but wrote that "nothing here stands out as graphically spectacular".

He complained that the game does not let players customise cars, and he disliked its lack of split-screen multiplayer. He summarised, "Limited options keep Destruction Derby out of the winner's circuit, but this rowdy stock-car racer still generates a stadium full of thrashin' fun. On the PC, up to nine players can compete simultaneously through Direct Play, the multiplayer component of DirectX included with the game. Destruction Derby 2 is what the original game should have been, had the developers, who were under time constraints, not coincide the release with the European launch of the PlayStation last year.

Nevertheless, Destruction Derby 2 is a fine game that will please fans with its new features. How to run this game on modern Windows PC? Contact: , done in 0.
