Where do the html, head, and body tags go? They go in your actual pages as will be explained in the steps below. The include file is the external file that contains the information that you wish to include in your actual web pages.
You'll create a new folder, an include file inside that folder, and then you'll copy the menu markup from an existing web page and copy it into the new include file.
For this tutorial, we'll assume that this page is index. For your include to work on your server, you'll need to change your file extension so that index. The only way to ensure that your links are always going to work, no matter what the page, you must set them to be relative to the root of your site. The URL value will change to include a leading forward slash, which indicates the path to your linked file is now relative to the root of your site.
You will need to delete these before saving your include file. The entire block of menu code will highlight to indicate your selection.
Adobe removed the ability to insert Server-Side Includes visually no one seems to know why. You will need to enter the code manually, which is covered below and quite simple to do. As they work on adding the content, I'd like them to be able to see the include files on the page - so that they can see the entire page as they add content, without having to upload it.
This gives them a better sense of what colours to use, and they are used to seeing the full page as they work. When I uploaded it and made it live however the include files failed to appear - the above path doesn't seem to be valid php. I fully understand what you're after, however the above is what works for me. I don't have any other solutions to offer.
