Ripped Fast is the definitive fat burner. This is a compact off-camera flash for use with point and shoot cameras like the Canon SX Around the top, left side, right side, and along the front of the flash are self-adhesive velcro strips. I used a machine, but I think hand-sewing the velcro will be fine. You can just make out the velcro in the picture So no coverage on the FX at 28 or 24mm. Bounce obviously isn't a problem. Having read quite a bit I've finally opted for the Metz CS This works via an electronic eye, which fires the gun once the built in flash fires.

It has a reasonable guide number of 20 at 35mm coverage and takes x2 AAA which is handy as they can also be used in the camera in emergency. Did you try bounce flash with that unit? I am interested to see what look you get when you combine the on-bord with the bounce from an external unit.

My C2 uis back from waranty repair and seems to work just fine, but I am interested ina possibility of using something like that for a two-flash setup. Fiddling with the bracket is obvously harder than putting the flash in the hotshoe. I'm currently looking at it for my GX It has a tilt head so can bounce but doesn't swivel. It unfortunately does not have a flash auto mode and would have to be used in manual mode. I also have a canon 20D which I'd be able to use this on.

Just an idea for you. Yes I've tried bouncing the Metz and it seems to work fine, albeit a bit fiddly because you have to hold the camera in one hand and the gun in the other.

That said the value of the bounced light is reduced because the gun on the camera is firing - and in the FX there is no way of turning it down, apart from using the 'soft' setting, which does seem to make a lot of difference. I guess it is a compromise one has to put up with if one wants to use the EVF and thus have to use a non hot shoe gun.

The other thing that seems work fine is to use the Metz as background fill. So, for example, the gun in the camera should be OK to light your group of people, whilst the Metz lights the area behind them.

Of course what we really need is for Ricoh to fit the GX wtih a flash lead socket that would fire a gun on a bracket without using the built in one We dig into the detail The Nikon Z mm F2.

With a versatile focal length range and a fast aperture for low light photography and blurry backgrounds, this lens promises sharp imagery and smooth bokeh with minimal aberrations.
