The tradition continues with the 33 starting drivers of the Indianapolis serving as honorary grand marshals the day before the race, riding in the traditional rows of three, with the winner of the pole position bringing up the rear. This option does not include transportation to the downtown parade area. Airport location hotels will have to get their own transporation to the downtown area.
The RE features a display showing the name of the driver and the channel allowing you to listen to all the audio between drivers, crews, spotters, race officials, broadcast radio feeds, and track announcers. We will have your scanner ready when you arrive at the track and after the race you can bring your rental back to the bus some exceptions apply.

The Pit Road Terrace Section is split into two parts. The first is Pit Road sections located to the furthest south and Pit Road sections located closest to the Tower Terrace.
Drivers Meeting Passes - The tickets are very cheap and get you into the stands to watch the drivers meeting. They are good for getting in the garage area after the meeting. All the drivers are gone to the parade, but it is a good chance to see the crews getting ready for the race, sometimes they are practicing their pit stops. The catch is you can only access the garage area with these garage passes after the race is over.
Long pants are allowed and must be over 9 years old. The post-race garage pass is well worth it. Lots of former and present driver sightings, plus you can get up close to the cars and see what they look like after miles.
You can however walk up to a fence and look into the Pit area. For this reason they are as expensive as the best seats and these do give you access to the Pits. From time to time we're able to secure Hot Pass tickets for our clients. Located in the Pagoda Plaza, just behind the Pagoda. The North Chalet Hospitality area is a very nice, relaxing environment to step away from your seats and enjoy some food and drinks.
This is an excellent hospitality option we can add to your tickets. Inside the air conditioned North Chalet Hospitality Area you'll find an Indy inspired buffett, full bar, indoor and outdoor seating, and closed circuit TV's where you can watch the race.
These private luxury suites are equipped with two private restrooms and 80 stadium-style outside seats that offer a spectacular view of the racing action. The outside seats are not covered. The food and drinks are included with the Tower. You'll enjoy fantastic views of the action plus access to a cash bar and food on the inside. You'll also enjoy the new outside deck area with a covered bar on the south end of the Hulman Terrace Club, surrounding a large indoor pavilion.
Seattle Mariners St. MacDonald was pronounced dead shortly afterward. Vukovich was leading the race when Rodger Ward spun his car coming out of turn two. His car wound up hitting and going over the outer wall, sending it into a high-speed cartwheel outside the track.
He would die of a basilar skull fracture before help could reach him. Floyd Roberts was the next driver at the Indy to die in , followed by Shorty Cantlon in In , Carl Scarborough became the first driver to be killed from heat exhaustion.
Some believe that Scarborough may have inhaled CO2 while crews were putting out flames from the car with a fire extinguisher, which could have been the actual cause of death.
In , Clay Weatherly was driving the same car that Johnny Hannon had fatally crashed in ten days earlier during testing. Weatherly went flying into and over the wall in turn four and was already pronounced dead when rescue crews arrived. The next death occurred in when Bill Spence turned over in turn two on lap ten, throwing him from the car. He died en route to the hospital from a fractured skull. Four years later, both Mark Billman and Lester Sprangler died in
