I too share this sentiment! We need a new golden sun game! The switch is a perfect platform for this franchise. Btw, nintendo did renew a trademark in with golden sun. It could mean a GBA emulator is coming to Nintendo online…. The first two games were originally one, so that would be amazing to see.
It would be a nice resurgence for the franchise. I really hope one day Camelot and Nintendo brings back the series and remakes the original and the Lost Age for the Switch. I think what is more likely to happen is that they bring GBA games to Nintendo Online and include these 2.

Pikmin which would technically be Pikmin 4 as it would be the fourth Pikmin game to be developed. As someone already pointed out, Golden Sun was revolutionary at the time. Releasing it now, with its mechanics already replicated and improved on in other games, will not get much traction.
The best way to handle this IP is to release a brand new game; a game that is what Xenoblade was to to Xenogears. Not remake, not a rehash and definitely not a port of the original three installments because the library of Switch already has so many of those. Golden Sun is such a gem.
