Sorry I did not mention that in the original post. And even if they weren't, this particular policy setting has absolutely nothing to do with what options are presented to the logged in user.
Delay restart for scheduled installations merely identifies how long the WUAgent will wait, after installation is completed if initiated from a scheduled installation , before initiating the system restart. The "Postpone" button can be selected an infinite number of times! Which is one of it's inherent flaws. However, if the "Postpone" button is disabled as will be the case when an update is being installed at a deadline because the user has ignored the "you have updates to install" notification for the past two weeks , then it cannot be chosen at all.
Ok if you say so. When this happened only 4 users complained. One other person I will vouch for stays up to date with updates. I can not vouch for the other two. So technically, there should not have been any updates for at least 2 of us. Is it possible there was a critical update that might have been superseded by newer update? The irrefutable evidence is recorded in the WindowsUpdate.
If you want to know exactly what happened, and why, that would be the place to look. Well, I intended to look at the update logs but time ran out before the next patch cycle hit. Today suddenly I get a pop up window stating the Updates are done and to restart automaticlly or Set to later. It pops up every 15 minutes I tried to reset the setting but the setting is greyed out.
I don't know what to do I can't stay up all night. How do I stop these updates and possibly loose everything again.
