Need rundll32 exe windows xp

It is a wrapper that enables COM servers to be called from rundll The only DLLs that can be called with the rundll. The problem comes from the malware activity or some faulty driver ending in the corruption of rundll. Quite often viruses replace this file with own versions for this file or infect the existing one. Then your antivirus might remove rundll32 from your system, and you get the error message about rundll32 absence on your system.

Hi, Well, the registry is nothing you want to play with if you're not even a little bit comfortable. I would probably use Art M's method. At least this method can be reversed if it doesn't work. I did go into the System 32 folder and could not locate a Dllcache folder. Installation cds only need "A authorized xp installation cd" SP2 or 3 makes no diffrence,the OS files. Thanks for your response, Andrew E. I ended up doing a clean install of XP.

As it turns out, I can't find needed drivers, so this has become an exercise in futility--but a good learning experience! I'm always grateful to folks who take the time to share their knowledge and offer assistance. Thanks for any help, Chris.
