Through the many line up changes there has been two constants During that time, they were signed to Victory Records, the label with whom they have released 4 albums.

Their First album, "Sirens and Condolences", which featured the single "Masterpiece" which they filmed a music video for, and spawned a huge on-coming of fans everywhere.

Then tragedy struck. On the first night of the Never Sleep Again Tour with label-mates Hawthorne Heights, Aiden, and Silverstein, the band was in a tragic van accident, which left Anthony and Jack slightly hurt, Nick seriously injured, and caused the death of John.

Anthony and Jack decided to re-embark on the tour, and do the remainder of their sets acoustic. This led to the release of their 3rd full-length album, "Bayside Acoustic", in , which consists of 10 tracks.

I understand that there are some similarities between the 2 bands, but I personally feel there are quite a few differences also. Well, I'd consider myself rather educated in both bands The only similarity I could see is that they both have fairly dark or bitter song concepts. However; Raneri is a much more thought-provoking lyricist than Skiba is. Also, I consider Bayside to be technically superior in the music department. Funny thing is, I kinda like Alkaline Trio more Apart from Dan's fantastic bass work for Alk3, the other thing I'd rate them ahead of Bayside on is their ability to record consistently even albums.

On most of Alk3's LPs, they hardly have a bad song, where-as Bayside seem to have more filler on their albums. I don't think I could rate any of Bayside's albums above a 4 even that's pushing it , where-as Alk3 could possibly get to a 4. How'd I do looking into your mind? Obviously, you are a mind reader. Dan is indeed quite a snappy bassist. Oh, and he doesn't dress like a gay pirate anymore.

At least he was looking rather manly when I saw them in November. I really only see maybe 2 songs as being filler on that record.

Digging: Swallow the Sun - Moonflowers. They seem to have a bit more about them than most pop-punk artists. For ages, Masterpiece was all I'd heard of theirs, until I decided to investigate further and wasn't disappointed. It's not their best though. About Winter, I don't know at all, but I do a lot of gigs and I reckon singing 'When winter falls next year, I'll be holding on to anything nailed down' would probably choke me up.

Big time. If Winter was on here, I probably would have raised my score half a point Apparently I like songs about death more than I ever realized.

Actually, lexicons' review may seem to suggest otherwise. You're not wrong on 'Winter' Adam. Once someone knows the real-life tragedy behind it, I don't see how they cannot be affected by it. On a lighter note, They're NOT horses, they're unicorns might be one of the best song titles ever. Ever ever ever :D I love Choice Hops. Also no Guardrail makes me sad. Not a bad song either. It's one of the few cuts on 'The Walking Wounded' LP which grew on me, rather than made its mark immediately.

And oh yes, I often forget 'Guardrail'. One of their most under-rated tracks I'd say. Awesome, sound like they are worth checking out. You did well selling the album Davey, maybe they should hire you full time ;-. Bayside's singles are definitely the place to start with them and this is probably the best place to find them in one package. And yeah, I think I would take a job as their publicity man. Haha, Davey you would make a great publicity man for any band who want to get their music heard.

But yeah, will definitely check this out when I have more time on my hands.
