After a battery, Jamal explains how he managed to answer every questions. The police inspector finds the explanations "bizarrely plausible" and allows him back onto the show. At Javed's safehouse, Latika sees Jamal on the news. Salim tries to make amends for his past behavior by giving Latika his phone and car keys and asking her to forgive him and to pass the message to Jamal. Latika reluctantly agrees and escapes. Meanwhile, Jamal faces the final question, asking for the name of the third musketeer in The Three Musketeers.
He uses the Phone-A-Friend lifeline to call Salim, not knowing any other phone numbers, but is surprised when Latika answers the phone. Unfortunately, she did not know the answer, but tells Jamal that she is safe.
After the phone call, Jamal goes for Aramis, the correct answer and wins the grand prize. Javed, hearing Latika on the show, finds out what Salim has done try to get rid of him, but Salim manages to kill Javed. Jamal and Latika meet at the railway station, kiss, and dance to the song "Jai Ho. Regarded as a sleeper hit, Slumdog Millionaire was widely acclaimed, being praised for its plot, soundtrack and direction.
His uncertainty of her fate on the streets of Mumbai and his intense desire to see his first and only love again lead him to the interrogation room where the film began. Like 'Juno,' Slumdog Millionaire is by genre a comedic drama, but it becomes much more.
The film asks questions about fate, righteousness, greed, and even urban sprawl. Above all, however, it asks about love in the face of the most dire obstacles, and if it can truly prosper. Jamal's story is a tragic and unfortunate one, but as seen through his eyes, it is still beautiful. The vast colour palate of India overwhelm any negative feelings, and Jamal's hope of finding and being with Latika overwhelm despair.

Famous faces would be one key feature of film and scripted television that never used to appear in game shows until audience interest shifted.
From the friendly banter of Pointless to the endless celebrity editions of established formats for worthy charitable causes, the equal and opposite effect of game shows on film seems to be that real game shows are becoming more dramatic and complex with more famous faces. But as films like Quiz Show and Slumdog Millionaire showed so effortlessly, game shows are inherently dramatic in themselves, perhaps more so than any other form of non-scripted television.
