TRiO programs provide academic tutoring, personal counseling, mentoring, financial guidance, and other supports necessary for educational access and retention.

Some CUNY schools now offer fully accredited online degree and certificate programs for students who want the experience, flexibility, and convenience of online education.
CUNY enrolls more than 18, students in education programs: one-third of these students study at the undergraduate level and two-thirds are graduate students. With a commitment to teaching and learning, our campuses prepare a culturally diverse pool of students to be effective educators in a variety of settings.
The Teacher Education portfolio within Academic Affairs also includes grant-funded programs, research initiatives and policy issues. Located in the city that launched the modern gay rights movement, CUNY is proud of the contributions and diversity that its LGBTQ faculty, students, and staff bring to our campus communities.

The Higher Educational Opportunity Program is an opportunity for individuals with academic potential to act on their potential. It is a chance to mold oneself into better individuals academically, personally and mentally. HEOP is also a resource and guide for students to pursue a higher education who would otherwise not be able to.
HEOP has provided me with the opportunity to get a great education at a great institution. However, this single opportunity blossomed into many more opportunities.
These other opportunities include leadership roles in different clubs and organizations on campus as well as the opportunity to form a relationship with Senator Tim Kennedy, who has been a mentor and friend to me for many months.
