Sean Hunt comes to Holby to get money from Sandy but when she can't givr it to him, he starts stealing it from patients in the hospital. Alex's first day back proves to be stressful and Sandy continues to steal from the patients under the command of Sean Hunt.


Sean Hunt continues to force Sandy to steal money for him from the hospital. It's relationship chaos for the staff at Holby this week. Owen discovers the truth about Chrissie; Mubbs and Jess's secret's out; and Tony wakes up to the reality about his relationship with Ben. In theatre, Ric and Diane try to save Tony's kidney but it's unsalvageable. He's placed on dialysis until a suitable donor is found. Meanwhile, Ben blames himself and feels helpless.


To make matters worse, John turns up declaring his undying love but Ben's not interested. Ben realises the serious implications and takes action: moments later, he tells Diane his decision to donate his kidney and she does a blood test. Is Ben trying to save his own skin? Tony finally wakes up, and is devastated to learn the seriousness of his condition. Ben tells him he's going to donate his kidney and apologises, but Tony's bitter and confused.


Secrets and lies abound in Holby City this week. Mubbs further arouses his suspicions when he tries to backtrack out of the revelation and seems nervous. Throughout the course of the day, Owen becomes more paranoid when he sees Chrissie and Ed talking. Sean blackmails Sandy and she resorts to stealing from the locker room but Danny catches her in the act. She explains the situation and Danny tells her she's probably been caught on camera.


He sneakily manages to hide the evidence before Chrissie gets her hands on it. Jess, meanwhile, is enjoying giving Ric a guilt trip about her cheap and pokey accommodation. Ric decides it's time to face up to his responsibilities as a parent. When an old colleague offers him the chance to go private and earn more money, he accepts, despite his principles. Chrissie's homeless, Owen's still fuming and Ben's got some bad news for Tony.


Chrissie's been off work for days, and she's alarmed when she returns to find all her worldly belongings in her office. Ed's shocked to learn she's homeless and offers a bed at his but she flatly refuses. Things are less than rosy for Sandy, too. When Sean turns up blackmailing her again, she resorts to desperate measures and steals from a deceased patient.


Danny catches her in the act again and tells her enough is enough and lures Sean into a trap. When he's confronted by Danny he scampers off like a coward. Tom pays a visit to the hospital therapist as part of his AA programme. When he fails to admit he has a problem, he's brought down a peg by the therapist and is forced to face up to the reality of his alcoholism.


Jess isn't too happy with the prospect of working with her! When he plucks up the courage to ask her out, he's interrupted by a phone call. Jess, meanwhile, is determined to sort out everyone's love lives as well as her own. When she sees Diane flirting with Alex, she concocts a plan to wean her off him by fixing her up with Steve. Steve fancies Diane but it looks like both Diane and Jess fancy Alex. Alex's shakes have returned: when Diane catches him taking relaxants, he nervously dismisses he has a problem, further arousing her suspicions.


Tension mounts between Alex and Ed again when Alex tells him he's needs to sort out his attitude if he's to continue working with him. Kaths trial for the assistance of Terry's suicide begins and everyone is surprised when she is charged with murder.


Kath's trial continues with unflattering revelations about the pasts of her and her son. Chrissie gives her a good character reference and she is let off on all charges. After the crash, Ben and Steve are trapped in a car severly injured. When the medics get to the scene, Ric realises that Steves leg is too damaged to save and they can't get to Ben because Steve is in the way. So Ric deides that Steve needs an amputation. When they get Steve out they can get to Ben but when they get Ben out, they discover that he is too badly injured to save and he dies.


While Kath starts her first day back after the trial, Lisa's Plans to go to Ben's funeral are thwarted. Lisa's first day working in AAU proves to be difficult and Chrissie can no longer stand living with her mother. Things get serious for Chrissie and Owen when the pregnancy runs into complications and a new midwife, Rosie Sattar starts her first day of work.


Meanwhile, Danny returns from Australia. Diane discovers that she is carrying the late Steve Waring's baby and requests for an immediate termination. Alex refuses to take treatment for his tremor until he is persuade to by Diane who is back on her first day after her termination.


On the day of the funeral of Chrissies baby, she asks Tricia to do the planning but asks her and Owen not to come, but they do. The New health care assisstant Nic Yorke starts on his first day and gets a lot of attention from the female nurses but the only one that really catches his eye is Sandy Harper. Proffessor Zubin Khan joins the Holby Team. As Chrisie attends her daughters funeral, Elizabeth Woods is admitted to Holby where the attraction between her and Zubin grows.


A new nurse Kelly Yorke starts work in Keller and Elizabeth Woods is admitted after a suppossed mugging. Her husband tries to convince her to say that Zubin raped her. When she does, Tom suspends him. Kath gets suspicious when she notices that Elizabeth Wood's Husband won't leave her side and Zubin manages to persuade her to tell the truth.


Charles Merrick operates on Alex Adas and Diane comes along for support. Meanwhile, Sammi Sattar is in for a sperm test to see why they aren't able to conceive. Tom stands up Diane to do something romantic for Anita and Ric's son Leo is admitted with pneumonia and is discovered to have traces of heroin in his blood.


Alex Adams feels more deppressed about his Parkinsons when he attends his father's funeral and meets his estranged family. Alex Adams returns to Holby and Ric is told unoficially that he is going to get the job of Clinical Director. Meanwhile Owen finalises his divorce papers with a bit of encouragement from Tricia.


As Ric is appointed the new Clinical Director, Mubbs' parebts set him up on a blind date. Tricia applies to be Ric's PA in order to put some distance between her and Owen. Ric and Zubin become increasingly nervous when it is discovered that the recent enexplained death of Sarah Palmer wasn't due to a faulty morphine pump. The health inspectors' report is far from positive, so Helen decides to question the nurses over who is responsible for the gross negligence.


Elsewhere, Rosie attempts to play Cupid for Mubbs, but things go from bad to worse when he invites his date to a lap-dancing club. Mubbs was out to impress Rubinda who was on a placement shadowing Rosie. He showed off during an operation and put himself at risk of an HIV infection. Meanwhile, Owen asked Tricia to go on holiday and she accepted. Ric thought Kath's resignation was a mistake and reinstated her. However, when Sarah Palmer's father threatened to go to the papers, Ric backtracked and suggested Kath take some unused holiday.


Sandy left Jess, Ric and Kelly large sums of cash and generously paid off Lisa's mortgage. Just as Nic decided to tell Sandy he loved her, he heard she'd dropped everything to be with Danny. Later, the staff gathered for drinks to wish their absent friend well in her new life in Australia and toasted ""the one and only Sandy. In a neat cossover, the wards of Holby City are bulging with patients from the train crash featured in Casualty's epic season-opener.


Peter Bowles guests as an old school surgeon whose competance is called into question by Zubin. And Eva Pope playes a professional escort who, it turns out, has Zubin as a client. Griffin struggles to cope when Keller comes under the spotlight for its recent suspicious deaths. Owen's plan to keep his relationship with Tricia secret is endangered when holiday snaps fall into the wrong hands. It is Jess's 21st birthday, and Ric is worried he cannot afford to buy her a decent present.


But when the cause of the recent Kellar deaths is discovered, Ric is left reeling. Meanwhile, Owen and Chrissie have a good time together. As DI Jane Archer investigates the recent deaths on Keller, Ric gambles away a small fortune to try and repair his relationship with his daughter.


A patient is brought in who needs a gall-bladder operation desperately which has to be done at the Hadlington but her husband hasn't told her that they can't afford it. As the police invstigations into the suspicious deaths continues, Stan Ashleigh is admitted to Holby with heart problems.


Chrissie finaly finds out about the relatioship between Owen and her mother and after a fight between the two, they both get suspended. As the police investigations continue a forensic psychologist is brought in to interrogate the murder suspects. Ric is served with a reposession notice as he gambles away more od his money and Nic Yorke is still being held at the police station for the murder of two. As Jess and Kelly go to visit Nic at the police station, Ric tries to hide his gambling debts and the fact that his home has been repossessed.


Having lost his home, Ric Griffin has been sleeping in his office. When the police realise that Nic couldn't have been the murderer, he is released. Meanwhile, Rosies daughter is admitted to AAU after overdosing on her mother's iron tablets. Jess finds out that her father has been sleeping in his office and she insists that he stays with her.


Ric defends Kath from the board who want to suspend her and she is arrested. Kelly wants Nic to run away with her, she finaly tells him the truth. Nic and Kelly's mother is admitted with severe stab wounds and Nic thinks Kelly is responsible.


Kelly promises that she will hand herself in to the police but later she trie to kill her mother again. Kath interrupts her and she chases her through the hospital until they are in a room alone together and Kelly stabs Kath. Zubin Khan finds Kath bleeding to death in a room and Nic's mother finaly confesses to him. There's a dramatic start to the festive season in Holby following the gas explosion, which has left siblings Nic and Kelly fighting for their lives. On a lighter note, Tom hosts the Holby Christmas bash, where an inebriated Tricia makes a complete spectacle of herself, while ladies' man Mubbs surprisingly opts to give the party a miss and do a spot of babysitting for Rosie instead.


As Nic's condition worsens, he asks to see his sister before she is moved to a secure hospital. When he deteriorates he must be taken to theatre but cannot be saved. Chrissie and Mubbs wake up together after their one night stand and Ed Keating finds out that his father will be released in a few weeks. Ric performs a very high risk operation on a cancer patient and Diane thinks that it is for money. She decides to tell Tom about it and Ric is left feeling betrayed by her. Ric later reveals to Zubin that he took on the risk for kicks.


After gambling with the life if a patient, Zubin asks Ric to see a psychyatrist. Jess considers not going to Nic Yorke's funeral. At Nic's funeral Jess is the only person from the hospital to be there.


Nic's mother and a depressed Kelly are also there. Jess visits Kelly after the funeral but it doesn't go very well. When she returns, she receives the news that Kelly hanged herself and she is dead. In maternity a young pregnant woman wants to give her baby for adoption immediately despite the fathers opinion. Tom and Ed are caught in a dilemma over a transplant, whilst Rosie fears that her relationship with Mubbs has alienated her children.


A quirky but handsome new arrival brightens Kath's day. A shock admission to Darwin finds Chrissie struggling to keep a secret from Ed, and Ric has some surprising news for Jess.


George's condition pushes Ed and Tom's professional relationship to the brink. And Rick and Diane get close over a case. The custody battle draws near for Rosie. Ed could face Tom's wrath once more. Alarm bells ring for Diane as she talks to a young girl and her father.


Mubbs discovers where he really stands with Rosie. Ed throws out the rule book for his dad. And Diane is working with her new flame. Keller's new nurse spells trouble for Diane and Owen finds his hands full with her best mate. Jess finds it hard to resist a patient. Ric does not approve of his daughter's new boyfriend Robert Pullman and Kath and Chrissie compete for the job of Clinical Matron.


Ric discovers a rare cancer in Jack Fenton which he thinks he must have contracted from work. Kath has doubts about taking up her new job and decides to do something different. She has a leaving party at the bar where she tells Lisa about how her father died. Tom and Ed treat young woman with a strangely high blood pressure and heart problem and Robert Pullman is readmitted with a bicycle accident injury but Ric doesn't belive him.


When Mubbs considers leaving his job, Rosie tells him that she loves him. Tom performs an operation on a high risk patient against Zubins wishes and a woman has a miscarriage which Mubbs discovers is because of her condition.


Diane Lloyd goes to an army hospital to advise on surgical techniques during a live-fire exercise. While she is there a soldier is shot and she must save him. A pregnant woman with a weak heart is in to give birth against Owens advice. As Ric attends his bankruptcy court hearing, Jess goes home after a stressful day and reluctantly lets Robert Pullman accompany her. Things get violent when he admits that he stole her keys and delibrately caused his girlfriends death.


He gets pushed through a window which causes him severe bleeding and he is taken to Holby where Ric operates on him unaware of the situation. Meanwhile in maternity, Mubbs and Owen treat a pregnant woman with syphilis.


The new, almost arrogant registrar, Will Curtis arrives on his first day and he doesn't go un-noticed. After he tries to get a transplant patient to the top of the list Ed is suspended. Sammi is admitted to AAU with a bleeding ulcer and Rosie goes to see him after Mubbs proposes to her. Cherise Patterson's pregnancy becomes complicated when she shows symptoms related to cancer and she goes into labour during Mubbs' investigations.


At Ed's suspension hearing, Chrissie refuses to cover for him and Tom, Ric and Zubin try to separate conjoined twins. When problems arise, Tom tries to get the permission of the parents to continue but when he fails to he continues anyway which results in him having to resign.


Meanwhile, Lisa is offered the position of Ward Sister on Keller. On the first anniversary of the death of Chrissie's baby, Mubbs tells her that Owen was the father and Lisa Fox starts her first day in charge of Keller ward with her hands full.


The new cardiothoracic consultant Connie Beauchamp arrives and is greated by the not very welcoming attitude of Will who is not very happy that he now has a female boss. And after a day of flirting with Ric, she sleeps with him in his office after which she reveals to him that she is the new Medical Director, making her his boss.


Diane's pregnant sister is brought in to Holby after being in a car crash. As she deteriorates, her and her unborn baby's life are hanging in the balance. Rosie gets some good news but Mubbs does not seem as enthusiastic about it. Meanwhile, Diane's sister's condition worsens and her baby must be delivered by cesarean. After the baby has been delivered, Joanna dies.


Diane struggles on her first day back after her sister's death. Will's bedside manner needs improving, and Connie digs around in his past. Ric is shocked when he sees Connie working her magic with Zubin and even more so after seeing her flirting with Mubbs. Meanwhile, Lisa tries to convince Mickie and Donna to stop being so irresponsible.


Mickie and Donna wake up in bed together after their night of passion but it is later discovered that it meant more to Mickie. Meanwhile, Zubin is upset when he finds out that Connie wants operate on a woman who happens to be the wife of an important trust member.


Diane's babysitter calls in sick and Diane is forced to take the baby in to work with her which doesn't go down well with Connie who tells her that she must choose between a child and her career. Rosie and Mubbs make up and Donna and Mickie become friends again. Connie organizes an evening of cricket for the men in order to build their abilities to work in a team, but they abandon that plan and decide to play some drinking games instead.


Meanwhile, a plastic surgeon is treating a patient on the ward and Lisa is forced to evict Donna when she fails to pay the rent. As Zubin starts making plans for the hospital, Donna confides her problems in Chrissie who is very upset after being set up with Carlos by Tricia. Meanwhile, Diane discovers that Jack's father wants custody of his son. Zubin and Ric give a lecture at Holby City University which is attended by Ric's son, Leo and his pregnant girlfriend who happens to be a drug addict.


She goes into premature labor and the baby must be delivered by cesarean section. Connie observes Will for the day after receiving numerous complaints from patients about his attitude. The situation is made worse when a patient makes a complaint to the board.


Will's disciplinary hearing puts his career in question but will Connie come to save him? Tricia and Carlos' relationship progresses. Jess confides in Donna that she has a crush on an older man but Donna is soon telling everyone. Mubbs is not supportive of Mickie's dream to go to medical school and Owen asks Diane to move in with him.


At Ric's 50th birthday party, both personal and professional relationships are tested. Chrissie's attempts to stop Owen's relationship with Diane backfire and Connie proves that she will go to any lengths to prove a point. A doctor on the wards has tested himself for an STD, Jess instantly worries its Sean as she is having sypmtons herself. Jess Griffin goes to maternity for her first scan after Mickie and Donna put some doubt into her mind about Sean being the father.


Crossover with Casualty; for part 1, see S19E [email protected] City 1 Jim fights to help Rosie and the baby to safety. The drug addict leaves Bex for dead but she is rescued and manages to survive. While as the remaining victims of the explosion try to escape, Jim gives up his own life so Rosie can escape the hospital alive. The hospital is in turmoil following the accident as Rosie has no memory of what happened. Rosie decides to discharge herself from hospital but doesn't get far as she goes into premature labour.


Tricia's friend Maggie returns to hospital but wants to die as Jess receives a surprise. Tricia and Chrissie get a surprise when Mark puts in an appearance on the ward.


As Mark prepares to leave Holby and return to London, a patient collapses requiring his assistance. Chrissie's father mark decides to leave the hospital after he discovers that neither Tricia or Chrissie want him to stay.


But later Tricia has a change of heart and decides to tell him he can stay after all, but can't speak for his daughter Chrissie. Jess notices she's bleeding slightly and is taken to Maternity. Jodie tells Mickie why she doesn't like Will. Will was left impaled on a pole and trapped underneath the scaffolding after Jodie crashed into him.


Another man, Dermot was impaled by the same pole trapped under Will. Casualty's Comfort arrived at the scene. Meanwhile, Jodie ran off and eventually caught up with Mickie.


She lied and said she lost consciousness and her foot slipped. Later, Mickie discovered she'd been deceived and shopped her to the cops. Jess was still recovering from her operation and was surprised when Sean asked her to marry him. Zubin told Jess he wanted to take care of her but Jess wasn't convinved.


The fire-fighters moved Will and Dermot together and they were taken to Darwin. Connie fought to save Will and took him off bypass to see if he could sustain himself. Suddenly his condition detoriated and he died. It is the day of Will's memorial service but, as Connie gives a reading, Will's wife, Susan, tells her to shut up and tell the truth. Susan claims that Connie made Will's life a misery by bullying and harassing him. Later, Holby Chief Executive, Peter, informs Connie that Susan is making an official complaint about her bullying to the board.


Chrissie tells Owen that Diane should know about her husband's infidelity. Later, Owen sees Diane and Chrissie speaking and wonders if Chrissie will tell Diane about their night of passion. Sean talks to Jess about wedding plans, but she says she wants to take things slowly. Sean decides to ask for Ric's blessing. When he receives it, an overjoyed Sean tells Jess the news. He takes out a ring and proposes, but they are interrupted by a patient. Later, Sean pesters Jess for an answer and warns her that he will not wait around for ever.


Jess and Zubin talk and Sean realises she does not love him, so they decide to end their relationship and call off the wedding.


Meanwhile, Chrissie persuades Connie to consider Mark for a permanent position, and she says she will interview him that afternoon. Mark says he will go but he later changes his mind and tells Connie he does not want the job.


Connie is furious and berates Chrissie. Chrissie storms into the bar where Lisa and Mark are drinking and tells Mark she wants nothing more to do with him. Dominic Fryer starts work as the new teaching consultant but Diane is shocked to see him. One of his students, Emma, turns up, and they argue and she attacks him.


Dominic collapses and discovers he has a hernia, so Ric agrees to operate on him later. Diane questions Emma on her relationship with Dominic. She asks if he forced himself on Emma and reveals he did the same to her. Dominic says he wants to be awake during his operation. During the procedure, Dominic and Diane start to argue. Chrissie visits Owen after taking a pregnancy test, fearing she may never be able to have children.


Dean learns a lesson whilst shadowing Diane. Parts three and four of a two-hour " [email protected] City" special aired in four parts over consecutive weeknights. For parts one and two, see Casualty S20E Lola discovers there is nothing wrong with asking for help. Mickie battles against rules and regulations only to find out that they are put there for a reason.


Dean relises he can't put his personal pride before a patient. With her eye on the Clinical Lead job, the arrival of new consultant Elliot Hope turns Connie's world upside down. Lola struggles when her daughter decides to move in with her boyfriend.


Mark is forced to leave the comfort of Darwin for the chaos of AAU. Elliot crosses Connie again and Donna oversteps the mark with disastrous results. Ric performs extreme surgery on one of his patients, with disastrous consequences.


Owen finally decides between Chrissie and Diane, and Matt bumps into a face from the past. Diane passes her consultant's exam, but is she ready for promotion? Connie learns that Elliot can be a pillar of support.


Meanwhile, Dean's future hangs in the balance. Lola finds Amy drinking heavily in an attempt to cause a miscarriage. Donna decides to contact social services, but the troubled teenager's stepfather has other ideas and secretly arranges for her to go to another hospital. Chrissie tells Owen she is leaving Holby, forcing him to finally make a choice between her and Diane.


Abra returns to Holby with his nephew, who needs an urgent transplant. Ric is unable to operate because of the injury to his hand - but he relents when the patient's mother reveals a secret. Owen fears that he might get sacked for hitting Amy's stepfather, and that this could jeopardise his access to Katie. Diane tries to keep Laura from turning on her ex, but when she learns about his clandestine relationship with Chrissie, tragedy strikes. Owen brings Katie to work to see the counsellor, as he is worried she is becoming too withdrawn.


He also makes plans to spend Christmas with Chrissie, but when he overhears his daughter talking to Diane, he realises he must be clear about where his priorities lie. Amy is brought in for treatment following her miscarriage, and Nigel announces his intention to take legal action. However, Roz is beginning to suspect the truth about her husband. For part one, see Casualty S20E Two medics apply for the registrar's position, and Connie sees an opportunity to advance her own career when she learns one of the candidates has a very influential father guest star Ronald Pickup.


Mickie is offered a job as a nurse, but her mother urges her not to take it. Mark and Tricia reminisce about old times while treating a patient - but when it emerges that the woman was raped, bad memories come flooding back. Ric has plenty of problems on his hands as the new ward opens - the thermostat breaks down and he is forced to take charge of an operation personally. Diane and Chrissie get into a heated argument over Owen in front of a patient, while Donna applies for a new job.


However, she is surprised to learn Mickie has already been appointed, and wonders why she didn't say anything. Frank's life insurance company asks for his medical records, and Tricia is afraid Mark will find out her secret. Despite her best efforts to cover things up, she is ultimately forced to confess that Chrissie is not his daughter.


Jac returns to the hospital and Ric advises Diane that she should take some time off to deal with her personal problems - though she's adamant that it isn't necessary. Jess returns to work after the death of her son but finds her newfound determination put to the test when young patient Archie presents with a lacerated spleen and she suspects possible child abuse.


Meanwhile, Mark tries to deal with the news that Chrissie is not his daughter. Connie's old school boyfriend Peter Holland arrives in the emergency department with a case of rheumatic fever and reveals childhood secrets about Connie. Mark and Lola become very involved in the treatment of two young brothers who have been beaten up. Elsewhere, Mickie loses her drunk patient Liz. New nurse Kyla abandons a patient during a critical period and the rest of the team want answers.


Meanwhile, in a bid to get Ric's support Jac and Diane go head to head in their procedures. Sam performs a risky operation that he has never done before - to Connie's outrage. Elliot gets a new PA, but finds she cramps his style, while Chrissie receives a variety of Valentine's gifts from a secret admirer. Paul Nicholas guest stars as a patient whose vasectomy reversal goes horribly wrong.


Jac's determination to have Ric choose her as the new consultant has tragic consequences. Sam bends the rules again and is brought down to earth with a bump. A determined Lola fights to keep Princess at home. A woman comes in for a heart transplant, and Connie persuades her to accept an experimental procedure that has never been tried before. Ric leaves Nick in charge while he is at the university, but Jac does not approve of his handling of a cancer patient's treatment and a past conflict between them resurfaces.


Mark gets over involved in a case which causes disastrous consequences. Meanwhile, Nick Jordan rocks Diane's world which may affect her relationship with Ric. When Nick learns that Ric is away from Holby for the day he is determined to get one over on him.


Meanwhile, Kyla learns that the best way to be a leader is to be herself. Matt's parents want him discharged from hospital to be treated at home, while Mark blames himself for the stabbing.


Donna flirts with a handsome physiotherapist, though Kyla warns her to stay away from him. The treatment of a heart patient causes conflict, as Connie wants to try the manufactured pump she helped develop, but Elliot is adamant a transplant is required. Nick performs an unnecessary operation in his campaign for a transfer.


However, when the patient's condition worsens, Jac is forced to take matters into her own hands. Matt and Dean undergo a student assessment with Lord Byrne, but may not be up to the challenge.


Mark is plagued by his secrets as he treats a woman with problems similar to his own. Connie is devastated when her patient collapses and there's not enough time to arrange a heart transplant.


Nick tries to get Diane on his side by letting her perform a difficult procedure for the first time, while Ric talks her into taking the research position full time. Kyla brings Max to work as he is a diabetic and she is worried about his blood sugar levels. Elliot fears for his wife, who has motor neurone disease and whose health appears to be getting worse.


He also regrets their decision to keep her condition a secret from Martha - not realising she knows something is up and has persuaded Joseph to help her learn the truth. Sam uncovers a family secret when he treats a boy with two mothers who is undergoing a heart transplant. Ric risks his friendship with Diane in an attempt to save her from Nick Jordan's clutches. Meanwhile, Joseph finds himself in trouble at work and Matt makes a career changing decision. Diane is determined to prove Ric wrong about Nick Jordan and a desperate Tricia tries to keep the truth from a suspicious Chrissie.
